You Are the Best - Color Throwdown #664

Hi there!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Turquoise, Kraft, Brown, and White.

I LOVE that inspiration photo!  So I decided to replicate it as closely as I could. 

~

~

I used the SSS Paper Layering Circle dies to create the circular effect and outlined each one using a brown Copic marker.  Patterned paper worked for the background and I added 2 tiny acorns too!

First Color Throwdown of 2021 - #624

Hello and welcome to my first post of 2021!  I hope you all are ready to tackle this new year with hope and a positive attitude!  That may be the only way we get through it!!  LOL!

We have a brand new Color Throwdown design team member starting today....Susie Moore!  She has been playing along with us for a very long time now and it just seemed right to welcome her to the team!!  Be sure to visit her blog and check out her wonderful creations!

So for our very first challenge of the new year Amy Rohl has a great color combo for us: Rust, Brown, and Cream.

I took this opportunity to make a CAS card for a nephew's upcoming birthday.  I don't know why but I always think that mushrooms indicate masculinity.  I'm just weird that way, I guess!  I used The Greetery's Botanical Toadstool dies along with a couple of others to create my card.

~

~

The sentiment is from the Power Poppy Strong and Beautiful stamp set.  Everything was water colored and I used water color paper for the card base as well.

This image is simply beautiful!  I had a great time coloring it with my Copic markers.

I added some shiplap boards behind the image for a homey feel and some pearl stickers for a touch of elegance.

Such a Blessing - Color Throwdown 615

Yay, it's Wednesday again and time for a new Color Throwdown challenge.  This week our colors are Orange, Black, and Kraft.

And here is the card I came up with using this great combo:

~

Not a Halloween card, which is what you would expect with the color combo, but it definitely works for Fall/Autumn.  I used the Blessed Blooms stamps and dies from The Greetery.  I also used Simon Says Stamp Floating Leaves stencil for the background, blended in ombre shades of orange using Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes and distress inks.

Hey y'all!  It's Wednesday, Hump Day, the day we start a brand new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Purple, Green, and Khaki!

Pretty cool inspiration photo, huh?  But I didn't go the cool watercolor route because I needed a card for a fun young man; so I went with a "punny" card using Toadstool Garden dies from The Greetery.  And a super cool sentiment from the You Aren't Normal set from Technique Tuesday.

 ~

The inside of the card says "You're really awesome (then again, so am I)!  LOL!!  Same sentiment set.

Hey Fungi Toadstool Garden

~

Hey, y'all!

I thought I'd pop in today and show you a birthday card I made using the brand new Botanicuts Toadstool Garden die from The Greetery.

~

I love these mushrooms!  I used some leftover water colored paper pieces to die cut them and then sponged the uncolored parts with some dye ink.  I created the "Hey Fungi" with my Dymo label maker.  Perfect for a teenage boy!  And I thought this Prima Marketing Doodle Deux patterned paper was just perfect for the background!
