Happy Day - Color Throwdown #713

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for another new Color Throwdown challenge, and I'm hosting this week!  I've chosen Pink, Burgundy, Green, and Cream as our color combo!

~

I thought a pretty floral card was in order using this beautiful palette, so I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Alstroemeria stem die for the focal point.  Alstroemeria has been one of my favorite flowers for as long as I can remember!

~

~

I also used a stem of the SSS Etched Laurel Leaves die as a "filler" behind my stem.  And how beautiful is that Sizzix 3-D Honeycomb embossed background??!  I love it!

2021 Grandkids Christmas cards

Hi, all!

I'm popping in today to share the Christmas cards I made for my grandkids.

You can see the granddaughters' Christmas Trees card post and links for supplies HERE.

I used the Concord and 9th Cards Stacks base dies, and the Home for the Holidays stamps and dies for the grandsons.

They were fun to make and the kids love them!  Even the teenagers!!

Christmas AND Birthday cards - Color Throwdown #669

~

This week for the Color Throwdown challenge we have a beautiful, bold color combo:  Navy, Gold, and White.

~

~

Now this is just perfect for an elegant Christmas card, right?  So I made one!

~

~

This card was an experimentation using some Liquid Metal (in Pale Gold) by Paper Fashion. I picked it up in the clearance aisle in Tuesday Morning and had never used it before.  I think it really highlighted the tree and beautiful scripty die!

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge: Trees.

But then...I also needed a birthday card, so I used some of the same products and the same overall layout/design for one.

~

~

The background stamp was heat embossed in gold, and I used 3 layers to make the happy birthday die cut pop!

~

~

Autumn Love You - Color Throwdown #668

It's time again for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Brown, Rust, Gold, and Blue.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Floating Leaves stencil and Paper Layering Circle dies, along with the Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes and some Distress inks for this surprisingly simple to make card.

~

~

I inked the edges with a Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink pad and traced the leaf edges through the stencil with a gold gel pen.

Wishing You Happiness - Color Throwdown #666

Hello!!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge, y'all!  This week our colors are Orange, Brown, and Kraft!  Truly a fall color palette!

I decided to go with a wreath in these colors this week.  I used the Etched Eucalyptus Wreath die from Simon Says Stamp and ink blended one, then die cut the other from some patterned paper.  The background is lightly stenciled using the Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set 21.

~

You Are the Best - Color Throwdown #664

Hi there!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Turquoise, Kraft, Brown, and White.

I LOVE that inspiration photo!  So I decided to replicate it as closely as I could. 

~

I used the SSS Paper Layering Circle dies to create the circular effect and outlined each one using a brown Copic marker.  Patterned paper worked for the background and I added 2 tiny acorns too!

Birthday Love - Color Throwdown #643

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  I'm hosting the Color Throwdown this week and I've chosen some soft summer shades for us to play with.  I've always said my favorite color is "water", so a few watery hues were in order: Aqua, Ice Blue, and Pale Green.

~

~

I had created a few Gelli prints recently and wanted to use one of them for my background today.  I used Distress inks and a brayer to coat the gelli plate, picked up the color with cardstock, then reapplied inks through the Floating Leaves stencil before picking up the ink again with the cardstock.  Simple, but I love the result.

~

~

The real star here though is the Mod Floral die cut in stark white against the multi-hued blue background. Then I used a couple of the sentiments from Reverse Birthday sentiment strips, and scattered some sequins.

Hello, and happy Wednesday!  It's once again time for a new Color Throwdown challenge, and this week our generic colors are Blush Pink, Dark Pink, and Cream.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers stamp set and Floral Shapes dies, along with the Folk Hearts dies from the Essentials by Ellen line.  I used the shades of pink from the eggs in the vase instead of the pinks from the flowers.  They worked better for a sympathy card.

The heart shape and the flower were cut from paper water colored with Distress inks.

Yeah, I didn't create a seaside card....I went with a cute smiling sloth!

Missing You - Color Throwdown #632

Hi and happy Wednesday to you!!  Today our Color Throwdown challenge is brought to you by Barbara, and the beautiful springtime generic colors are Yellow, Peach, Green, and White.

I thought my Altenew Floral Doodles dies would be a perfect set to use with some watercolors to replicate the beautiful burst of florals.

~

~

I used my Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes to color the die cuts. For the water color background, I smooshed my distress ink pads onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water, and dabbed up the colors onto my water color paper, drying between dabs.
