Keeping Christmas - March 2019

Well, it’s the 25th of the month so how about another Keeping Christmas card…the 3rd one this year, so far!

~

~

This year I seem to be leaning toward a CAS style; cards that are easy to make multiples of.

~

~

I had an assembly line going for this one.  I stamped, die cut, and colored all the SSS Christmas Essentials berries with my Copic markers first.  Then I stamped the sentiment on all the white card bases, and shaded them with a Copic marker.  All that was left to do was to adhere a strip of patterned paper and pop up the berries with foam mounting tape.  And to make the process a little more interesting for me, I just used several different patterned papers with the basic red and green Christmas colors.

You Are Pretty Amazing - Color Throwdown #514

Happy Wednesday!  It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge.  Amy Rohl is our hostess and her seasonal color palette is spot on for October – Orange, Brown, Rust, and Yellow.

I used one of the new Power Poppy digital images from the Season’s Seatings  set for my card. Isn’t it beautiful?  Mine was water colored using Distress inks.  I used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp You Matter stamp set.

Heart Happy - Color Throwdown #513

Hey, y’all! It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge, and I’m the hostess for this week!  The colors I’ve chosen are Lime, Navy blue, and Green.

For my card I chose to use the PTI What the Doodle Feather stamp set and matching dies.  The great sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Happy Heart stamp set.

~

The feather was colored with my Copic markers and I also used them to color the green background.

Sweet Friends Forever - Color Throwdown #509

Well, it’s Wednesday again, so you know what that means!  It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our hostess, Vickie, chose a super fun color combo for us:  Red, Orange, and Blue.

I went with a super easy card this week, using  a retired (?) Simon Says Stamp set called How We Roll.

~

~

The hardest part, which wasn’t hard at all, was air-brushing the background.  I kept the Wonky Rectangle die on the cardstock while I did that.

Keeping Christmas - August 2018

Well, hello!  It’s the 25th of the month again (I still can’t believe it’s August already!), so it’s time for a brand new Keeping Christmas blog hop!

It took me longer than I would have liked to get my card done this month, but I think if all the background pieces could be done ahead of time, the rest of the card would come together pretty quickly.  Another possibility for a production-line card.

~

~

I'm entering this into the latest Fusion Card Challenge.  I used the sketch and the theme.

Keeping Christmas & Color Throwdown #503

Hey, y’all!

I’m hosting the challenge at the Color Throwdown this week, and I’ve chosen a color combo that can be used for many, many different types of cards – Red, Green, and Gray.

~

~

I know you’re expecting a summer themed card from me, but this is also my post for our Keeping Christmas blog hop for July! 

~

~

So my card is definitely a Christmas card!

~

~

I made a card that is easy to pull together.  I actually have several of the Santas that have already been stamped and die cut.  So I just colored this one up in greens and neutrals, and placed him with the red SSS Holiday Frames die cut onto a patterned paper layer.  You could leave it like this, or step it up a little like I did by adding several sparkly highlights with Star Dust stickles.  And you’re good to go!  Sweet and simple!

Keeping Christmas - June 2018 - Getting the Tree

~

Happy 25th of the month!  That means it’s time for another Keeping Christmas blog hop to help inspire you to get some Christmas cards done before the rush is upon us.  I know it’s only June, but if you blink, it will be Christmas Eve and too late to make any cards!

~

This month I did a little bit of Copic coloring on my adorable little car carrying the Christmas tree home to be decorated.  It’s from the Essentials by Ellen Tis the Season stamp set. The background is just a piece of a panel that was stamped in Tumbled Glass  with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Doodle background.

~

~

I used a piece of green seam binding as the “road”, and I stamped the sentiment in Versafine onyx black ink.

Amazing - Color Throwdown #495

Yay!  It’s time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  Here are the colors that our talented hostess Jodi has chosen – Navy, Burgundy, Gold.

Somebody needs to slap my wrist this week because I totally left the gold off of this one.  But the burgundy and blue are there!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Ranunculus stamp set to create a small bouquet and then added the sentiment from the same set.  It’s a simple card but it says a lot!

Keeping Christmas - May 2018 - Warm Wishes

Hi, all!

It’s the 25th of the month and I have another Christmas card for the Keeping Christmas blog hop to show you.

~

~

I love the Hero Arts layering stamp sets, especially the Cardinal.  No coloring involved – only stamping and embellishing!

~

~

I stamped the cardinal in layers and die cut him.  Then I stamped the branch pieces on another piece of white cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and used my air compressor to spray paint the background using my Copic marker B02.  I used a border frame die to emboss the panel, then rounded the corners and popped the layer up on my card base.  I added the cardinal using foam mounting tape and added a few sparkly silver enamel dots.  Done!  Super easy and fun for a session of making multiples of a design.

Bravo! - Color Throwdown #494

~

It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and her color combo is a classic – Blue, Red, and White!

~

~

I just love the simplicity of that inspiration photo.

I needed a card for someone special who just bought a new house.  Now, I don’t have a house stamp (that I can find right now, anyway), so I pulled out the retired Avery Elle Oh Yeah stamp and die set and used the arrow stamp & die to stamp several houses and cut one out of red cardstock.  Then I ran that one through the Big Shot using the PTI Woodgrain impression plate.  And here’s what I ended up with.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Slopes and Hills die for the hillside.
