Enjoy Fruit - Color Throwdown #461

Hey, guys!

Are you all ready for the newest Color Throwdown challenge?  Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week and here are the wonderfully vibrant colors she’s chosen: Purple, Orange, Yellow, Green

I used a new-to-me clear stamp set I picked up at Hobby Lobby – no name, but it’s cute, and it was in the clearance bin!

~

~

I watercolored a background and die cut it,  then I  watercolored the fruit and cut them out.  They are popped up on foam mounting tape.  Pretty simple.

If Flowers Could Hug - Color Throwdown #409

Hello, everybody!  Happy Wednesday!

It’s time for an awesome new Color Throwdown palette from the oh-so-talented Vickie!!  The colors this week are yellow, aqua, black, and white.  And they are so striking together!

I used the fabulous Mondo Peony stamp set along with the Mondo Peony die  from the latest Essentials by Ellen collection.  I LOVE THESE IMAGES!!!

~

~

The peony was colored with my Copic markers  and popped up over a Peerless Watercolor background.  The sentiment is another perfect one from the Lovely stamp set.

Party Dog!! - Color Throwdown #395

Hey there, y’all!  Can you believe it’s already June???

Are you ready for the latest Color Throwdown challenge??  You all really rocked it this last week and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with this new palette:

Isn’t that great?  Jodi chose a fun earthy combo for us!

I thought I’d make another masculine card to add to my birthday stash and decided to use this pleasantly plump and adorable Party Dog from Rubbernecker!

~

~

The little guy was stamped on X-Press It paper and colored with Copic markers.  Then I cut him out and popped him up on my water-colored background.  That was done with Peerless watercolors.  The sentiment is from That is All from WPlus9.  (Yes, I used it yet again!)

This Little Piggy - Color Throwdown #391

Hey there, y’all!

It seems like I just finished last week’s Color Throwdown post, but I guess I’m wrong about that because here it is Wednesday, and it’s time for a brand new month and a brand new challenge!!

This week Amy Rysavy is our hostess for the first time so be sure to let her know how much you love this fabulous combo:

AND…. Amy Rohl has graciously accepted our invitation to join the Color Throwdown team permanently.  Yay!!!!!  I just love her style, don’t you!!??

Now on to my card!  I figured with this beautiful inspiration photo, everyone would gravitate to using florals.  So of course I used a pig!  A Birthday Pig from Rubbernecker!  And here he is:

I water colored him with my Clean Color pens and then fussy-cut him.  He’s popped up on foam mounting tape.  The aqua background was painted with my Peerless watercolors and a #10 brush.  I also tied on some Mandarin twine from the Twinery.  The great sentiment is from the That is All set from WPlus9.  This will go to my brother-in-law so no sequins on this card.

The Challenge #63 Sketch - Oh My Stars!

~

Hello friends!

It’s time for a sketch from The Challenge!  I love sketches!  And this one was so much fun!

~

~

Isn’t it great? 

I went with a water colored and die cut layer, over a sparkly glitter paper layer.

~

~

I taped my stencil down over my watercolor paper and painted through it with my Peerless watercolors.  The dies and the fun sentiment are from Lil’ Inker Designs.

~

~

A Wish Under the Sea

Happy, happy Friday, peeps!

This week and next the ADFD team will be showcasing an eclectic collection of images called “Cozy Day”.  The image I chose for this week is called A Wish Under the Sea.  What a sweet, sweet image!

~

~

I loved coloring this pair of sweeties using dye inks, Peerless watercolors, and my Copic markers.  The background is painted in ombre style (a little hard to see through all the sequins).  The hearts were die cut using Folk Hearts dies from the Essentials by Ellen line.  The sentiment is from Simply You by Technique Tuesday.

Our latest ADFD challenge is to Add Stitching, which I did by adding the faux stitching with a die cut to the card front.

My color palette today is from the Colour Q challenge cQc#324:

And I’m also entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge – Ombre.

A Tiny Monster - Boo!

I’ve got another of the adorable Green-Eyed Monsters from A Day For Daisies to share with you today.  Coming to you in the form of a tiny 3 x 3 card.

This is Monster Cindy!  I love her!  I colored her with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color real brushes.  And doesn’t she look lovely with the water-colored background (using Peerless watercolors)?

October is here!

~

It's October 1st so that means it's Day 1 of the latest 30 day coloring challenge from Kathy at The Daily Marker!  I'm so excited!  I LOVE to color!

~

~

To start off the month I've created a simple card using the MFT Polynesian Paradise Chameleon again!  He's just so darn cute!

~

~

This time I stamped him in SU Slate ink onto watercolor paper and used my Peerless watercolors to paint him.  I used black enamel accents again for his eye.

The background was created using my Mini Ferns stencil and some Twisted Citron ink.  The ombre card base is actually from a box of preprinted cards I picked up on sale at Michael's a couple of months ago.

The sentiment is from the WPlus 9 Strictly Sentiments 5 set.

I probably won't be able to post something on the blog every day this month, but I'll try to at least upload a photo to Instagram daily.  Follow me!
