Happy Wednesday and happy December!  Can you believe it?  The year is almost over!  

This week for the Color Throwdown challenge our color palette is Pink, Grey, Silver, and White.

What a beautiful combo!

I decided to use it with this adorable little bird from Papertrey Ink to make a birthday card.

Botanicals - Color Throwdown #711

Happy Wednesday!  Our Color Throwdown challenge this week features some beautiful deep color hues - Turquoise, Yellow, Brown, and Green.

I love the contrast of the bright yellow and the deep teal.  

Here's my card:

For my background I used a TCW stencil called Mini Ferns, blending green ink on the teal paper.  The flower and leaves are from a Sizzix die set called Corsage dies. The arch is from the Ellen Hutson Essential Arches die set, and the sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Tropics set.

Under the Sea - Color Throwdown #710

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Ivory, Kraft, and Aqua.

I love this color palette!  And I used it to make a beach related birthday card!

LOVE - Color Throwdown 679

Happy day to you all!  It's Wednesday and time for another new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Blue, Green, and Gold.

I love these colors and I love this inspiration piece!  I just used alcohol inks last week, but I couldn't resist using them again.  Here's my alcohol ink shaker card.

~

~

For this birthday card (no, it's not a Valentine!), I used the Love word die from Scrapbook.com and a Heart Stitches die from Papertrey Ink. And I made this into a fun glitter shaker card for the recipient.

Celebrate (Twice) - Color Throwdown #670

Happy Wednesday!  This week for the Color Throwdown challenge we have a beautiful color combo consisting of Blue, Yellow, and Red.

~

~

I love that adorable little bird! 

But I needed 2 birthday cards for this week, and I needed something quick to make but also fun.  So I pulled out the alcohol inks, and this is what I came up with!

~

~

I simply dropped alcohol ink in 3 different colors along the top of an A2 panel of glossy cardstock, and then around the border of the next panel.  I dropped some blending solution as well to dilute and spread the colors a little.

~

~

~

It's a little hard to see in the above photos, but I also added some alcohol ink gold mixative using my glass pen along the edge of some of the color shapes.

~

~

~

I really like the shine that it adds!

The sentiment and little twinkles are from the Good Times stamp set from Papertrey Ink.

Mod Floral Sympathy - Color Throwdown 658

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!  Can you believe it's September already?  The kids are back in school, the tourists have mostly all gone home, and I am totally enjoying the beach lately!!

But today it's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our colors are Blue, Gray, Light Blue, and White.

It's such a beautiful and subtle palette, don't you think?

I sadly needed a sympathy card this week, so I pulled out some patterned paper, some retired Papertrey Ink stamp sets, and the beautiful Mod Floral die from Ellen Hutson LLC.

~

~

I did some second generation stamping on the patterned paper and double layered the die.  I also added some subtle candy dots from SU.

Hey Friend - Color Throwdown #655

~

Hey, Friends!!  It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge and this week's colors are awesome together!  We get to use Pink, Mint Green, and Gray.

~

~

This was a perfect combo for another card using the super fun Good Day stamp set from Ellen Hutson!  It was a real blast to make!

~

~

The sentiment is from the It's All Good set and I used the Papertrey Ink Waves die to create a stencil, which I used to ink the rolling hills by masking off all but the one strip for the road.  I blended that one in gray, then masked it off and ink blended the rest in a soft green.

Vodka - Color Throwdown #652

Time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week's colors are so fun - Turquoise, Blue, Green, and Kraft.

And what a beautiful seaside inspiration photo!

But...I needed a birthday card for my son-in-law, and this just happened to be the perfect card for him. 😋

~

~

I used 2 retired Papertrey Ink stamp sets - Friendship Jar Fillers and Friendship Jar Summer Fillers - along with the perfect sentiment from the stamp set with the same name, This Could Be Vodka, from The Cat's Pajamas.

I stamped everything but the jar in colors and did a tiny bit of Copic coloring for the liquid.  I used some washi tape to ground the scene. A simple and fun card!

Happy Birthday Molly! - Color Throwdown #640

Happy Wednesday, y'all!

This week at the Color Throwdown we have a very pretty Spring color combo: Pink, Coral, and Green.

This week I needed a special birthday card for my granddaughter Molly's birthday.  So I decided to try out a technique revisited by Jennifer McGuire recently - Easel cards!  I also used her suggestion to personalize it.

I colored everything with my Copic markers and airbrushed the background.  The "Happy" and "molly" are coated with Glossy Accents for some sparkle and shine!  I'm very happy with how it turned out!  And I love that she can display it on her desk or dresser!
