Oh. Em. Gee. - Color Throwdown #653

Hi there!  It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge and I'm the hostess this week.  I chose some bright, happy colors for us to play with ... Pink, Orange, Yellow, and Green!

Isn't that a beautiful cake?!  I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks!

Today I'm using some of the new products from the Essentials by Ellen collection from Ellen Hutson LLC.  I have really had a blast playing with these!  Here's my latest creation.

~

~

A fun card for a teenage girl's birthday! I used the Good Day and It's All Good stamp sets, and the Essential Arches dies to create the steep hill.  Now that looks like fun!

I ink blended the arches while holding them together with some Press N Seal.

Good Day Sunshine - Color Throwdown #650

Welcome to Wednesday, y'all!  Today we have a brand new color combo for everyone to play with at the Color Throwdown blog: Yellow, Gray, Black, and White.

~

~

I was in need of a masculine birthday card, and you know this palette is just perfect for that!  And I just had to use the new (to me) Organic Elements stamp set along with a great sentiment from the Good Day stamp set, both from Ellen Hutson. The sun is from the Abstract Sunset die set.

~

~

I also added a little bit of Star Dust Stickles for some real "shine"!

~

~

Warm Bear Hugs - Color Throwdown 622

~

I can't believe it's Wednesday again already!  And December?  How did that happen??

How about a brand new Color Throwdown challenge?  Today the generic colors are Red, Burgundy, Cream, and Kraft.  What a great combo!

~

~

I sure would like to dive head first into that cheesecake, y'all!  It looks totally scrumptious!  But instead I pulled out the new Forest Fellas from Power Poppy and used the Bear for a masculine birthday card.  A bear with a scarf and a cup of coffee/cocoa!  What could be better?

~

~

I colored him with Copic markers, using the dot method on his fur.  I used a rag dipped in Various Ink blending solution to create the texture on his overalls.  And I thought the Pine Needles embossing on the background added even more of a woodsy touch!

What a fabulous bouquet this is! I wanted to water color it in colors that were not too Christmas typical.  And I wanted to use the MOST important of the sentiments!  

~

~

I added some water around the edges of the colored image to allow some of the color to bleed out into the background.  Love that effect!

All the images in this set invoke feelings of serenity and beauty.  A glorious winter time set!  I wanted to play around with shadows and night time color, so I went with a sunset (or sunrise or full moon) scenario.  All done in Copics.

Such sweet images!!  I am totally in love with the little Santa!  I had to color him up and I really wanted to use the "let Heaven and Nature sing" sentiment.  So since I was using the digital stamp set, I was able to shrink down the little bird to perch on top of the tree to be the singer!

There are so many ornament choices to add to this enchanted branch.  Or you can use each of the items to create a beautiful woodland wonderland! I used some of them as ornaments.

Everything is water colored, and then I enhanced most of the elements with an overlay of pearlescent paint for a glimmery effect.

There are quite a few of these awesome fellas with SO many wonderful sayings to use with them.  These are not just for Christmas, y'all.  Use them all throughout the winter months.

Here's my card using the sly little silver fox:

He and the snowy hill  with pines background were watercolored and I used 2 of the sentiments.  All I added was a little red yard for an accent to complete the card.

This image is simply beautiful!  I had a great time coloring it with my Copic markers.

I added some shiplap boards behind the image for a homey feel and some pearl stickers for a touch of elegance.
