It's time for a new blog hop series with the E-Team! Our new assignment from Daisy is titled "It's Better With Color!" We're going to share our creations with you, tell you how we made them, and fill you in on all the details about why we chose the products we did. It's all about the color, folks!
For our first hop of the series, we're sharing the stage with the fabulous design team from Stampavie! These ladies are the best of the best! Believe me, I know! Some are very dear friends, too!
We got to choose a stamp from the Stampavie collection at eclectic Paperie and color it however we chose. Since my grandsons are starting to reach the preteen years, I thought a Mo Manning stamp titled Paul Texting would come in handy very soon. Besides, I LOVE Mo Manning images! And I'm so glad that Stampavie now has them as clear stamps!

Now let's get on to my card.
I stamped Paul in Memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cover cardstock. I use this smooth heavy weight (but not too heavy) cardstock because it's the perfect finish and thickness for coloring with Copic markers. It won't bleed. I use the Memento ink basically because it dries almost instantly and time is always an issue for me.

When I color images such as this one that are lifelike as well as whimsical I like to try to get the colors as lifelike as possible too. But without getting too specific and detailed. You can see that I used several colors for each specific area of the image, using an imaginary light source coming from the front of Paul. Look more closely. (You can click on any image to see it larger.) Even though the colors may look precise and blended from a distance at first glance, they're really very spotty, creating shadows and highlights.
