Healing Prayers - Color Throwdown #651

Happy Wednesday!

Are you ready for the latest Color Throwdown challenge?  This week our colors are Navy, Aqua, Green, and Magenta.  A beautiful palette!

My card for this week is a sympathy card for some close friends, using a beautiful digital stamp called Healing Prayers from Graciellie Designs.

~

~

The image and sentiment were printed onto water color paper then painted.  When dry it was cut using the new Essential Arches die from Ellen Hutson LLC.  The layer beneath it was pierced with the A2 Piercing Plate, also from Ellen Hutson LLC.  I love the texture that this adds to the card!

Valentine Wood Hearts - Color Throwdown #629

Happy Wednesday!  We are fast approaching Valentine's Day....it's this Sunday, y'all!

Vickie is our hostess this week at the Color Throwdown and the generic colors she's chosen for us to play with are Red, Pink, Black, and White.

Great combo for Valentines, right?  That's what I thought, so I printed out some super cool "wooden" hearts from the Love, Love, Love digital stamp set by Graciellie Designs and colored them up with my Copic markers.  I made 4 cards all together - 1 for my granddaughter (it's the pink girly one!), and 3 for my grandsons (in more woodsy brown tones, opting to use brown as an additional neutral).

I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Across the Miles - Color Throwdown 612

Simplicity - Color Throwdown 611

Happy Wednesday!

We have a brand new Color Throwdown for you today!  The generic colors we are using this week are Gray, Kraft, Green, and White.

I love that outdoor room!

And since the dominant color is green I decided to use the brand new to me Simplicity digital images from Graciellie Designs.  I won it in her Instagram giveaway!

~

~

For the background I used what I call the "brush drag" technique.  After the leaves were colored with Copic markers, I used the brush end of both a gray and a pale blue marker (one at a time) and dragged from the center of the image out to the edges.  This picks up some of the leaf color and drags it into the background.  I also coated the leaves with a Wink of Stella green pen to add lots of subtle sparkle.
