Be a Mermaid - Color Throwdown #593

Happy Wednesday!!

I'm hosting the Color Throwdown challenge this week and these are the colors that I've chosen for us to play with: Pink, Blue, and Yellow.

I chose to use the Inner Mermaid stamp set, along with the matching dies, for a birthday card for a beautiful young lady.

~

~

The background was blended using Distress inks and Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes.  Then I spritzed it with water and let it dry.  The same was done with the pink for the mermaid tail and shell & starfish, before I stamped and die cut them.

After they were attached with foam mounting tape, I scattered lots of shine and sparkle everywhere!

Mondo Hydrangea - Color Throwdown #592

Happy Wednesday! 

Today Barbara is our hostess and she has a beautiful color combo for us to play with.  The generic colors are Aqua, Teal, Gray, and Gold.

I knew right away I wanted to CASE Kelly Latevola's watercolor cards HERE.  They are so beautiful!  I had to change the white heat embossing to gold in order to use the design for our color combo this week.  So this is my card:

The resulting look is not as impactful as Kelly's with her white embossing, but I'm still happy with it.

Just Ducky - Color Throwdown #582

Well, y'all, it's Wednesday again and time for another brand new Color Throwdown challenge.  Just look at the gorgeous inspiration photo we've got for you this week.  The generic colors are Hot Pink, Aqua, Kraft, White.

I sure wish I was there!!

I needed a get well card for my granddaughter and I thought she would get a kick out of the duck and the "punny" sentiment from the On The Farm stamp and die sets from Papertrey Ink.

~

~

The die cuts are from the Silver Linings die set from Ellen Hutson LLC.

I used my new Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes to add more color to the "ground".  I just love those things!!

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown!  This week we have a really great color combo: Pink, Green, and Navy!

~

I needed a get well card for a certain sweet little girl and the adorable bear from the Essentials by Ellen All Inside stamp set is just perfect!

~

~

I used all of the large words in the set to create the dual-colored background and I water colored the bear and the heart before die cutting them.  The pink ribbon adds a bit more color and makes it a little more feminine!

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge!  This week our generic colors are Turquoise, Green, Gold, and White.

I needed a masculine birthday card this week, so my card uses the Essentials by Ellen Stay Salty stamp set for a nautical theme.

~

~

The boat, water, and some of the sky are water colored and the flag and sun are colored with a gold gel pen.  A simple one-layer card that mails well.

Sympathy Thinking of You - Color Throwdown #571

Happy Wednesday!  Are you ready for the latest Color Throwdown challenge?  

We have a great combo this week.  The generic colors are Hot Pink. Green, Aqua, and Silver.

I know you probably think I was going to do a Christmas card with these colors, right?  So did I!!  But it turns out I needed a sympathy card, so this is what I came up with.

~

This is actually the second generation stamping of this image.  I inked up the images, spritzed with water, and stamped the first panel.  Then I spritzed a second time and stamped again.

A pretty simple way to do two cards in one sitting, don't you think?

Hello Gorgeous - Color Throwdown #569

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge, y'all! 

Our generic colors this week are Purple, Lavender, and Green.

I colored the Mondo Peony with my Copic markers and then stamped the leaves and die cut them and the flower.  I wanted a softly colored background and couldn't find a patterned paper that suited me, so I just drew soft green stripes with a Copic marker (G00).
