Sending Smooches - Color Throwdown #467

Hey there, you guys!

Are you ready for the latest and greatest Color Throwdown challenge??  Lori is our hostess this week and here is the fantastic color combo that she chose for us – Red, Teal, and Green.

I had fun with this one!  I really couldn’t wait to use my new Good Friends stamp and die set that is the collaboration between Ellen Hutson and MFT Stamps for the United We Flourish program.  It’s awesome!!  These little pups and kittens are precious!  And I really, really love the friendship sentiments!

~

~

I blended Distress Oxide inks, Lucky Clover and Peacock Feathers, for the background on water color paper.  The polaroid die cut is a retired one from Taylored Expressions.  I thought it was the perfect choice to frame these cuties.

I'm entering this card into the Simon Says Monday challenge ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL.

 And also into the AAA Cards challenge CAS Game #102 – Ink Blending.

Hello and happy Halloween to you all!

I just wanted to pop in and show you the Halloween cards that I made for the grandkids this year.  Here’s a group shot, the only photo I thought to take!

I used the Tim Holtz Mini Cats & Dogs and Crazy Talk along with Essentials by Ellen Bear Ware 2.  I did quite a bit of Distress Oxide ink blending for the backgrounds but kept the cards pretty simple.

Power Poppy Raspberries!

Hey there, y’all!

I know I don’t usually post on a Sunday, but I just had to pop in and post a card I made using the new Raspberry digital image from the brand new Power Poppy Cherries and Berries release!  Isn’t it great?

And I used the colors from the new Hues to Use challenge at the Power Poppy blog. 

~

~

So finally, here’s my card:

~

I printed it (after rotating it a little) onto some Bristol Smooth Surface paper and watercolored with Gansai Tambi colors as well as a couple of Zig Clean Color pens .  After a little creative cutting, I popped it up over some coordinating cardstock and added some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime and some highlights with a white gel pen.

This Could Be Vodka - Color Throwdown #426

~

Happy Wednesday, people!  We had the most beautiful, warm weekend here in the South and it seems to be continuing throughout the week with highs in the 60s.  Yay!

It’s time for another wonderful color palette from the team at the Color Throwdown!  Lisa is our hostess and here are the colors she’s chosen from her inspiration photo: Grey, Red, Kraft.

I love these colors together!

I wanted to use my new This Could Be Vodka stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas.  It’s awesome and perfect for a birthday card for my nephew!

~

~

I stamped the image directly onto my card base and colored it with my Copic markers, adding some white gel pen highlights.  I stamped the sentiment and added a strip of adhesive ribbon under it.

For the “tabletop” I used some washi tape.  I taped it across the bottom of the image and traced the image through it, then removed it and cut the shape of the cup out.  Then I just added it back and used the same black pen to line the tabletop.  I also added some sequins as a finishing touch.

Hey, y’all! 

My friend, Lesley Croghan, invited me to be the Creative Guest Designer at Inspired By All the Little Things!  What an honor!  It’s a fantastic challenge blog with some of the most talented designers on the planet!!

I went with the color tones and the love & floral theme.  Perfect for a Valentine card, don’t you think?

I used the adorable and oh-so versatile All Inside stamp set and matching dies from the Essentials by Ellen collection.  The tiny bouquet of flowers is from the Bear Ware stamp set.  My background was made with my brand new Mission Gold water-color set.

All-new Four Wreaths and SALESGIVING at Power Poppy

Hello and happy Friday!  Did you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving?  I sure did!  I ate way too much and enjoyed the wonderful warm flip-flop Southern weather!

Today I colored up the Succulent and Baubles Wreath, using Distress inks on watercolor paper.

I really love the idea of using succulents in a Christmas wreath!  All different shades of green, red and purple!

Sneak a Peek - Color Throwdown #414

Hey, y’all!

It’s time for the latest and greatest episode of the Color Throwdown challenge!

This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and here are the awesome colors she chose for us to play with:

You probably think I’m going to show you a beachy card again, right?  NOT!!  Ha, ha!  I’ve been playing with my new Clearly Planned stamp set from Taylored Expressions called Sneak a Peek in my planner, and just HAD to make a card with it too!  It’s just too cute not to!

~

~

Aren’t those little sneaky peeky guys adorable?  I just drew a line with a pencil then used my Misti to line them up peeking over it! The cool frames are from the All Framed Up die from Reverse Confetti.

The background and the little guys are all watercolored, and I’m entering this card into the Addicted to CAS watercolor challenge.

~

Rose and Chamomile - a new Power Poppy digital stamp set

~

Hello, all you Power Poppy fans!  I’m so excited for you to see Marcella Hawley’s  fabulous new digital image!  This is gorgeous, folks!

Here is Rose and Chamomile:

Just beautiful!  I absolutely adore this rose, and I think the rosehips and chamomile are perfect accents!

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watercolor or Copic color this image…so I did both!  The rose is colored with my Copic markers but the rest of the flowers and leaves are water colored with Kuretake Zig Clean Color pens.  I was able to do this on the dry PTI Stampers Select cardstock because of its thickness and absorbency.  None of the colors ran.

The Challenge #68 - Happy Birthday Colors

Hello, and happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

It’s the second Monday of the month and that means it’s time for a color challenge at The Challenge!  I adore this bright palette!

I wanted to keep the bright happy feel and decided a birthday card was in order, so I pulled out a few of my Dylusions ink sprays to provide the great vivid colors.  The great Shaped Sayings: Birthday die is from PTI.
