Two for Tea

Hey there!

Today I thought I'd show you a card I made to display at the Our Craft Lounge booth at CHA.  I love the sweet look of all the images in this new release set called Tea Time.

I took a white flower, colored it with a G0000 Copic marker and cut it apart to use for the leaves.

On a personal note, I've been working out in the yard this weekend!  I have lots of flower beds that need to be cleaned out and since it's been so pretty, I can't resist being out there.  I can't believe that even the dogwoods are already blooming!  And I've seen 2 butterflies today too!

Hooray for spring!!  I'm so glad the cold weather is gone!

Good Monday morning everyone!  I'm off to the doctor bright and early today for annual lab work, but first I wanted to share a card I made for a CHA sample.

I've had this Donna Downey stamp set from Unity on my wish list from the first moment I saw it.  As I was placing an order at eclectic Paperie one day, I saw that Daisy had it, and somehow it just jumped into my virtual shopping cart!  I'm so glad it did!

I used some Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso and brushed it across the bottom of the red layer, so my stamped sentiment would pop.  And I just had to use this amazing striped ribbon and huge Jillibean Soup wood button.  There's nothing small about this card!  It's finished measurements are 4 1/2" x 8".  In case you can't read the sentiment, it says "She pursued BIG dreams instead of small realities."  A great mantra for all of us!

This is one of the cards I made a few weeks ago that was supposed to be on display at the Couture Cardstock booth at summer CHA in Chicago at the end of this month.

Since there is no longer a Couture Cardstock design team and there will not be a booth at CHA, I'm able to show you my creations now.

I used the Unity May KOTM for the image and stamped it several times on different cardstocks.  Everything is layered several times.  See the musical strip?  That's a strip of Symphony tissue tape by Tim Holtz!  It's so cool!  The bottom of the card was made using pieces of drywall mesh tape and my Copic airbrush system.

Tall Peony

This was another of my samples for the Couture Cardstock booth at CHA.  I used the Peony stamp from Just For Fun ® Rubber Stamps.  I LOVE to color that flower! 

It's stamped on One Sheet Wonder and colored with my Copics, of course.

Nature’s Note watercolored

I’m able to show you some of the sample cards I made for the Couture Cardstock booth at CHA now.  This first one uses the new Nature’s Note set from Our Craft Lounge.  Let me just tell you that this set has the MOST gorgeous images!

I had not yet received the actual stamp set when I made the card, but I did have a print sheet.  I printed the images onto Couture Cardstock Pure Silk Water Color paper and immediately heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I was able to watercolor it.  I actually colored the images twice and cut out and layered one on top of the other.

The card base is 6" x 6" and is a medium weight cardstock from the Confectionary Collection - called Cocoa.  I scored it using my Scor-Pal after embossing with a square Nestabilities die in the center.  (You can click on the photo to see the detail.)  The shimmery gold layer - oh my, what beautiful paper! - is Grace from the Red Carpet Collection.
