Bravo! - Color Throwdown #494

~

It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and her color combo is a classic – Blue, Red, and White!

~

I just love the simplicity of that inspiration photo.

I needed a card for someone special who just bought a new house.  Now, I don’t have a house stamp (that I can find right now, anyway), so I pulled out the retired Avery Elle Oh Yeah stamp and die set and used the arrow stamp & die to stamp several houses and cut one out of red cardstock.  Then I ran that one through the Big Shot using the PTI Woodgrain impression plate.  And here’s what I ended up with.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Slopes and Hills die for the hillside.

Love You More Than Bacon - Color Throwdown #289

Happy Hump Day to you all!

I can't believe it's been a whole week since I posted here on the old blog!  I went away for the weekend and now I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.  I think.

Our latest Color Throwdown challenge is hosted by the ever-talented Monika and here is the beautiful color palette that she chose:

I decided to try an artsy focus on my card today.  It's heat embossed, stamped, stenciled, water-colored, and blinged!  And it was a lot of fun!  You can find most of the products that I used at eclectic Paperie (links are below this post).

Love in Black & Gold

It's been a long time since I just made a card to enter into a challenge.  But I really wanted to play in a CASE Study challenge this month, since Danielle Flanders is the muse.  I love her style!

This is the card chosen to be cased this month for the CASE Study Challenge #177:

I made another Valentine card (I know, don't shoot me!).  But I love the idea of a Valentine in black, white and gold!

The background is clear embossed by pressing Versamark through my Mini Chevrons stencil and then embossing with clear embossing powder.

~

~

I used 3 different washi tapes, some sequins, and some hearts from the Happy Hearts set embossed in gold.  I also stamped the love and arrows from the Oh Yeah stamp set in black and gold and popped it up on foam mounting tape.

Tutu Cute - Color Throwdown #256

Hi, everyone!  It's time once again for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  Joan is our hostess-with-the-Mostess this week and she's chosen a beautiful combo for us to work with:

I was at CKC in Charlotte on Saturday and picked up a few stamps at ridiculously low prices ($1.00 for small ones and $2.00 for large ones).  It didn't matter to me that they were last year's releases!

Today I've used the Melissa Frances Tu-tu Cute stamp.  Of course I had to buy a little ballerina!!  And I thought Joan's colors would work really well for a tutu and water colored background for her.

The "leaves" are from the Avery Elle Rounded Diamonds stamp set (and dies).  I clear embossed the veins.  The background is another that I used the wrinkle-free distress technique on.  But on this one, I didn't really like how the Razzleberry was so much darker that the other 2 colors, so after I dried the piece, I ended up flipping it over to the back side for a much softer look! 

I colored the little cutie with Copics and used a new Wink of Stella glitter brush (clear) to add some shimmer.  Then I popped on a seam binding bow and some sequins and I was done.

Hey there, CTD fans!  It's time for the latest edition of the famous Color Throwdown challenge!  This week Wanda is our fabulous hostess, and I adore this bright and happy color combo she chose:

Awesome, huh?

I decided to go CAS again this week and use some new supplies that I just got!  That's always fun, isn't it?

I just got the Avery Elle stamp set Oh Yeah and matching die.  What fun it is!  So many possibilities there!  So I used both of those as well as some new stencils: Mini Art Is and Tiny Circles.  Throw in some Ranger Distress inks, some foam mounting tape, and some bling, and we're good to go!

Quick, easy and fun!  I love this kind of card!
