Hey, folks! This week our Color Throwdown combo consists of Pink, Coral, Dark Purple, and Green.

I used all dies this week to make a birthday card for a sweet friend: Altenew Fantasy Floral die, Impression Obsession Birdcage die, and Spellbinders Simply Perfect Mix and Match sentiment dies.  And I love how they all came together!

~

~

I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder called Leafy Branch, which I still love, for the background.

~

~

Hip Hip Hooray - Color Throwdown #704

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge and our colors this week are Brown, Green, Black, and White.

I was unsure of what to do with this darker combo, but then realized that I could use lighter hues and that I had the Altenew Monsteras and Quotes stamps, dies, and stencils that I had wanted to use.  So here is my tropical themed birthday card. The sentiment is from the Essentials by Ellen It's All Good stamp set.

~

~

I really like how it turned out and it was pretty easy to make!  Double win!

Missing You - Color Throwdown #632

Hi and happy Wednesday to you!!  Today our Color Throwdown challenge is brought to you by Barbara, and the beautiful springtime generic colors are Yellow, Peach, Green, and White.

~

I thought my Altenew Floral Doodles dies would be a perfect set to use with some watercolors to replicate the beautiful burst of florals.

~

~

I used my Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes to color the die cuts. For the water color background, I smooshed my distress ink pads onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water, and dabbed up the colors onto my water color paper, drying between dabs.

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Are you ready for the newest Color Throwdown challenge?  Our generic colors this week are Plum, Cream, and Black. Yummy!

I wanted to use some new Altenew products that I had just treated myself to.  The Floral Doodles and the Linear Crossroads dies are fantastic and so much fun! (Links are at the end of the post.)

The florals are water colored and the background is splattered.  The sentiment strip is from Simon Says Stamp.

With Sympathy - Color Throwdown 625

Hey, everyone!  Are you ready for another beautiful color combo from The Color Throwdown challenge?  Our newest DT member Susie is our hostess this week and the generic colors she's chosen are Blue, Pink, and Green!

~

~

I needed another sympathy card but didn't want it to be dark and somber, so I decided to use these bright colors to send a little bit of  love and cheer along with the heartfelt sympathy.

~

~

The floral dies are from Altenew, the geometric heart is from Sizzix, and the heat-embossed sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  (All links are in the supply list at the bottom of the post.)

I'm entering this card into The Flower Challenge #52 - Use embossing heat or dry.  My sentiment is heat embossed.

I just loved the watercolor look of the shamrock and went with that for a birthday card for my pastor.

This was a perfect opportunity for me to use the Mega Greetings 4 stamp set and coordinating die from Altenew again.  This was so simple, but it really has a big visual impact!

I recently got the new Altenew Mega Blessings 4 stamp set along with the Mega Blessed die and thought they would pair beautifully with the brand new FREE Rose digital stamp from Power Poppy. This is a birthday card for someone very dear to me.

The rose is colored with multiple reds of Copic markers and the leaves/stems are shaded in browns.

Keeping Christmas - August 2018

Well, hello!  It’s the 25th of the month again (I still can’t believe it’s August already!), so it’s time for a brand new Keeping Christmas blog hop!

It took me longer than I would have liked to get my card done this month, but I think if all the background pieces could be done ahead of time, the rest of the card would come together pretty quickly.  Another possibility for a production-line card.
