Fantasy Floral Hugs - Color Throwdown #708

Hey, folks! This week our Color Throwdown combo consists of Pink, Coral, Dark Purple, and Green.

I used all dies this week to make a birthday card for a sweet friend: Altenew Fantasy Floral die, Impression Obsession Birdcage die, and Spellbinders Simply Perfect Mix and Match sentiment dies.  And I love how they all came together!

~

~

I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder called Leafy Branch, which I still love, for the background.

~

~

WISH - Color Throwdown #707

Hello and happy Wednesday to you!

It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and this week our colors are Mustard, Navy, and Turquoise. This is such a great combo!

I wasn't sure I was going to like it but I ended up loving it! Especially when I layered the colors side by side on the white card base.

~

~

And with the big glittery letters on top of them...man, everything really pops!

I loved it so much I made a second card too!

~

~

I am quite sure I'll be using this MFT Stamps big Wish die again and again in the future.

~

~

Bold Happy Birthday - Color Throwdown #706

Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge and this week our colors are Aqua, Lime Green, and White.  My favorite combo!!

Today I have a simple (kind of) birthday shaker card that I made to show you.   It was TOTALLY inspired by Carly Tee Minner's card HERE. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have that die and make a similar card!

~

~

I ink blended fewer colors than Carly did so I felt it needed a little more pizzazz.  Then I added the washi tape and twine, and it's a little more festive now!

~

~

Hummingbird Hugs - Color Throwdown #705

Hey, guys!  It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and this week our colors are Purple, Red, and Green.

~

~

Purple is a very general color label, and I chose to use a darker hue than the one in the photo for my card this week.

~

~ 

This birthday card is for a dear friend who LOVES purple!  And I think she'll love the hummingbird too! 

I used the new Layered Hummingbird die from Simon Says Stamp , along with a Sizzix Tropical Leaves 3D embossing folder, a sentiment die from Spellbinders Simply Perfect Mix & Match set,  and an Essential Arches die and A2 Piercing Plate from Ellen Hutson LLC.  I love the look of all these elements combined.  

Since I already had several additional hummingbird die cut pieces, I used them to create a second card with a more muted palette.

This one will be for a friend who is recovering from some medical issues. 

The background on this one was ink blended with Distress ink in Crushed Olive, then blended over with some white pigment ink to soften the color.

Hip Hip Hooray - Color Throwdown #704

Happy Wednesday!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge and our colors this week are Brown, Green, Black, and White.

I was unsure of what to do with this darker combo, but then realized that I could use lighter hues and that I had the Altenew Monsteras and Quotes stamps, dies, and stencils that I had wanted to use.  So here is my tropical themed birthday card. The sentiment is from the Essentials by Ellen It's All Good stamp set.

I really like how it turned out and it was pretty easy to make!  Double win!
