First Color Throwdown of 2021 - #624

Hello and welcome to my first post of 2021!  I hope you all are ready to tackle this new year with hope and a positive attitude!  That may be the only way we get through it!!  LOL!

We have a brand new Color Throwdown design team member starting today....Susie Moore!  She has been playing along with us for a very long time now and it just seemed right to welcome her to the team!!  Be sure to visit her blog and check out her wonderful creations!

So for our very first challenge of the new year Amy Rohl has a great color combo for us: Rust, Brown, and Cream.

I took this opportunity to make a CAS card for a nephew's upcoming birthday.  I don't know why but I always think that mushrooms indicate masculinity.  I'm just weird that way, I guess!  I used The Greetery's Botanical Toadstool dies along with a couple of others to create my card.

The sentiment is from the Power Poppy Strong and Beautiful stamp set.  Everything was water colored and I used water color paper for the card base as well.

PERFECT!! Just what I needed to see to start my year of popping by and spouting off. LOVE the colors and those neat mushrooms. Using the watercolor paper as the card base adds such class to the whole project. Well Done, Auntie Beachy!

I tend to agree with you on a positive mindset Broni and I'm wishing you a happy healthy 2021! I absolutely love those Greetery mushrooms and just wish there was a stockist in the UK. They are perfect for this earthy colour palette and look fabulous on the slightly textured card stock. Vicky x
