Mini Snowscapes - CASEd

~

Happy Friday, y'all!

I have a couple of cards to show you today that are a little different from what I usually post.

I've been following Heather Telford on Instagram (@heather.telford) and have always admired her style.  She has inspired me with all of her water coloring, especially the ones with trees.  Last week she posted some mini snowscapes which prompted me to go ahead and try it for myself.  Yes, I totally CASEd 2 of her beauties.

Here are my cards:

I used Eclipse tape to mask the moons and then water colored the night skies.  Heather used a stamp for her trees, but I used a Tim Holtz stencil for mine. I also outlined my tiny panels with liquid metal (pale gold) and then gold embossed my sentiment from the Power Poppy Mossy Pots stamp set.

I'll definitely try my hand at some of these tiny water colored panels again.  I love how they turned out!  Thank you to Heather for her inspiration!!

Merry Christmas Lights - Color Throwdown 623

~

Hello, everyone!  I'm hosting this week's Color Throwdown challenge and I'm excited to have you join us!  The generic colors for this week are Green, Aqua, and Pink.

And don't fall over but I actually made a Christmas card using these colors!!

~

~

I used the new digital Let It Glow set from Power Poppy's Quiet Christmas release, with a sentiment from the Let It Glow polymer stamp set.  So much fun, and this was really a simple card to make!!  I think I've finally found my assembly-line-for-Christmas card for this year!

The lights were colored with 2 colors of Copics each and the glow for each bulb was added with an even lighter shade of the same color.  I added some Star Dust stickles to each bulb.

Warm Bear Hugs - Color Throwdown 622

~

I can't believe it's Wednesday again already!  And December?  How did that happen??

How about a brand new Color Throwdown challenge?  Today the generic colors are Red, Burgundy, Cream, and Kraft.  What a great combo!

I sure would like to dive head first into that cheesecake, y'all!  It looks totally scrumptious!  But instead I pulled out the new Forest Fellas from Power Poppy and used the Bear for a masculine birthday card.  A bear with a scarf and a cup of coffee/cocoa!  What could be better?

~

~

I colored him with Copic markers, using the dot method on his fur.  I used a rag dipped in Various Ink blending solution to create the texture on his overalls.  And I thought the Pine Needles embossing on the background added even more of a woodsy touch!
