Big Sexy Blooms - Cut

Happy Friday!

Today I have a mixed media (sort of) card for you using Big Sexy Blooms and Good Thinking: Renewal, both from Power Poppy.

I stamped and heat embossed the Big Sexy Blooms background stamp and water colored just these 2 flowers.  Then I cut them out.

When I water color using distress inks I normally just smoosh the ink pads into my craft mat and pick up the color from there.  So I sprayed the ink on the mat with water and smooshed another piece of water color paper into all the ink, let it dry, then smooshed it again.  I continued until I had the colors and depth of color that I was happy with.

I wanted a little extra interest and texture so I painted through a Dylusions stencil with acrylic gesso.  I let that dry, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the Good Thinking: Renewal set.  The panel was die cut, outlined using a black marker, then mounted onto the white card base.  Finally I popped on the flowers with foam mounting tape, bringing them all the way out to the card base edge.

Happy Friday! And what an AWESOME way to end July! Your coloring is fantastic and this card is bold, bright and so eye catching. Really like how you put the blooms to the very edges and trimmed them straight.Love this one!

Such a beautiful, watery-colored card, Broni! Gorgeous, rich colors and a background technique that I just love. Great versatility with the blooms, cutting out just two of them. Love this!
