~
Good Friday morning, everyone!
I wanted to share a birthday card that I made for a friend using the Power Poppy Strong and Beautiful stamp set.
~
I used the single flower and the fern frond images to stamp around the oval that would be die cut later. The flowers were stamped in Antique Linen. After I water colored them and let them dry, I stamped them again in gray ink for more definition.
~
The ovals were die cut in the water colored panel and also in the card front, so the sentiment oval is actually attached to the inside of the card.
Do any of you remember when we used Distress inks to dye our own white seam binding to match/coordinate with our cards? Well, that's what I did here. And I still love how it looks!
~
If you'll pop on over to the Power Poppy blog, you will see a list of all the designers who have inspiring cards for you to enjoy today.
Thank you so much for dropping by!

Well, I absolutely love how you cut the oval sentiment and instead of popping it out (my usual) you depressed it. Great idea and one that I should remember. This technique of detailing the flowers and loosely coloring the leaves really interest me. Impressive card.
Thanks for your help last night.

Oh I like that you restamped the flowers in gray that really does add an extra layer. Great watercoloring so very pretty.

Oooh, I like it! It's a different look for this set and it's beautiful. I did plenty of seam binding that way and still see it being done by folks who make the more elaborate cards. So pretty!
