It's incredible and so much fun to color!  Just think of all the patterned papers you could use for the wrapping paper with this Big Ol' Bow on top!  I went for a simple, yet elegant version, with a red bow/ribbon on white paper.  And my ribbon has sparkly edges, courtesy of some Star Dust Stickles!  The big merry is one of the sentiments from the new Winter Flora digital stamp set.

Sympathy Thinking of You - Color Throwdown #571

Happy Wednesday!  Are you ready for the latest Color Throwdown challenge?  

We have a great combo this week.  The generic colors are Hot Pink. Green, Aqua, and Silver.

~

I know you probably think I was going to do a Christmas card with these colors, right?  So did I!!  But it turns out I needed a sympathy card, so this is what I came up with.

~

~

This is actually the second generation stamping of this image.  I inked up the images, spritzed with water, and stamped the first panel.  Then I spritzed a second time and stamped again.

A pretty simple way to do two cards in one sitting, don't you think?

Power Poppy Christmas Remix - Day 6

I can't believe we're already on Day 6 of the Power Poppy Christmas Remix Holiday Blitz!  Today we're introducing the new Poinsettia LX digital stamp set.

This is what Marcy told us about this set:

The powerhouse of a Poinsettias. This digital download supplies three variations of this vivacious, velvety Christmas classic. With slightly puckered and rippling leaves, you can add lots of dimension and life to this festive plant though your coloring. Includes a large single bloom, Poinsettia with a stem and secondary leaves, the stemmed image with hand lettered "Joy to the World", AND a 5x7" supersized, full-bleed image to steal the show! Each image includes a light grey version for no-line coloring. Go XL and really dive into those petals this season.

This is REALLY extra large and I love it!

Power Poppy's Christmas Remix - Day 1

This Christmas season Power Poppy is "remixing" it up!  There will be several days (a blitz, if you will), showcasing new ways to use older clear stamps and some brand new digital stamps.  Today we are featuring Poinsettias - Poinsettia clear stamps and Poinsettia and Pomegranates digital stamps.

~

~

This is my first time participating as a part of the Bloom Brigade design team and I'm super excited about it!!

You may know by now that I like to use different color combos for flowers and today is no exception.  I've used the digital image and water colored it using Distress inks and used colored pencils for shading.

~

~

I know it's hard to tell from the photo but the center of the poinsettia is dotted with Nuvo Limoncello drops.  Those and the sequins add another level of texture to the card.

Christmas Stag - Color Throwdown #570

Happy Wednesday, y'all!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge and our generic colors this week are Turquoise, Orange, Silver or Gray.

I'm hard at work trying to get as many Christmas cards made as possible.  In today's card I used one of my favorite Christmas dies from WPlus9 called Stag Trio.

~

~

The background is water colored using the "smooshing" technique and the stag is framed with the SSS Holiday Frames die.  The orange was added with a bit of striped twine.

Hello Gorgeous - Color Throwdown #569

I colored the Mondo Peony with my Copic markers and then stamped the leaves and die cut them and the flower.  I wanted a softly colored background and couldn't find a patterned paper that suited me, so I just drew soft green stripes with a Copic marker (G00).
