Deer Family Birthday - Color Throwdown #520

Good Wednesday morning!  It’s time for the latest and greatest Color Throwdown challenge.  Here are the generic values for this week’s colors:  Green, Kraft, Brown, and Cream.

I needed a couple of masculine birthday cards and the Deer Family Die Cut from Rubbernecker Stamps was perfect!  I used it along with the Watercolor Forest and a vertical sentiment from the Happy Birthday stamp set.

I die cut the deer from both brown and kraft cardstock and sponged the edges of the lighter colored deer with some brown ink.  For the background I smooshed 3 Distress inks (light blue, green, and brown) onto a flexible piece of acrylic and spritzed it with water.  I applied it to a piece of water color paper and allowed it to dry, then cut it in half so that I could make 2 cards.

I inked the Watercolor Forest stamp in green ink, spritzed it in water, stamped it over the green background area, and allowed it to dry.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of kraft cardstock, and then I assembled all the elements onto the card base.

Very Cool inky tree background! And I really like how you cut the deer from different papers and accented with ink. Clever vertical sentiment banner. Wonderful, classy man cards! TOUCHDOWN because if you hit a home run around here, you'd lose the ball in the S-n-o-w banks...
