Hi, everyone.
I’m thrilled to tell you that I am joining Kelly Lunceford and several other fabulous artists from The Challenge for a monthly Keeping Christmas celebration. This is something that Kelly was doing last year and we all joined her in December 2017 to celebrate. And now she’s generously invited us to join her for a blog hop on the 25th of each month to kick start us all to make our 2018 Christmas cards. I’m so excited!
My goal is to come up with designs that are simple to create/recreate, yet are eye-catching as well. I certainly hope I can stick to that goal throughout the year.
Here’s my first January 2018 design.
~
This was very simple to make with just a few supplies.
~
The Distress inks were sponged onto a 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper. And I used the beautiful Simon Says Stamp Evergreen Circle die to cut another 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper.
Then I spritzed water onto the sponged paper using my Distress Sprayer.
~
I used my Poppystamps Double Stitch Scalloped Rectangle Frames (now that’s a mouthful) to cut around the Evergreen Circle sheet. I wanted to use both of these pieces but I wanted more of the colored background to show through, so I trimmed down the inner rectangle a bit.
~
The sentiment is from the great Flora and Fauna Winter Wonderland stamp set.
And here it is again finished. I hope you like it!

Now it’s time to continue along the blog hop. Here’s the list:

Thanks for stopping by! Now go forth and make some Merry!

Well, I love the idea and it's A-OK with me! I can use the inspiration to get the pile I've started finished up. I love your pretty background and the super cute double stitched scalloped frame. It's a simple design, easy to mail. Awesome!

This card is so beautiful! It is definitely peaceful and perfect for your "Peace on Earth" sentiment! I love the Poppystamps frame you used on your card. I like the detail it adds without taking away from the scene you created!

Christmas ALL year?! Guess I'm going to have to be a buttercup and suck it up -- if only to come by and see if you are able to TOP this FANTASTIC card! LOVE your color combo ( oxides & distress! ) on the background and your white is even more pristine than s-n-o-w. The scallop frame is perfect and you were right to let more of the color show through by trimming it down. Off to start chanting "25th Beachy", so I can remember to drop in.
