Hello, everyone!
Our friend, Lesley Croghan, has discovered since having her baby that there is just not as much time to craft! So she came up with a brilliant idea to have a blog hop with the whole The Challenge crew (as well as a few other special guests) to share some inspiration for LAST MINUTE SIMPLE YET SWEET Christmas cards or tags! Doesn’t that sound like fun?
You need to be sure to start at Lesley’s blog (there may be prizes to be won), then follow the hop from there! If you’ve arrived here from Anita Madden’s blog then you’re on the right track!
Here is the blog hop order in case you get lost:
Anita Madden
Broni Holcombe (You are here)
Claire Broadwater
Julee Tilman
Kelly Lunceford
Kim Heggins
Lori Tecler
Nance Salkeld
Nina Forsyth
Rachel Bergfeld
Vicki Finger

My cards were fun to make and didn’t take very long at all. I kept with the same color theme for all of them. Too many different items on my craft table tend to distract me. You know the saying about a bright and shiny object…..
Card #1:
~:
This card has a dry embossed panel, a heat embossed tiny sentiment panel, and a larger sentiment die cut attached to a piece of self-adhesive glitter fun foam (saving several steps).
Card #2:
~
This one has an alcohol ink panel (very simple and fun) with a sentiment heat embossed on it, then attached to an embossed card front. I also used a strand of striped twine.
Card #3:
~
This one uses a similar alcohol ink panel (same colors of ink) with a deer and sentiment heat embossed on it, and a die cut snowy hill. I added some sequins and a piece of thin washi tape as well.
The alcohol backgrounds don’t take long at all to make. Basically you drop ink onto glossy cardstock and let it create it’s own patterns. Here’s a link to a Jennifer McGuire video showing you how to do it.
Now it’s time to move on to the next stop on the hop, but be sure to leave a comment here so you’ll have a chance to win a prize! Next stop: Claire Broadwater
Thank you so much for coming by today! Enjoy the rest of the hop!

What clever cards!! I LOVE that you used the alcohol inked backgrounds. I never like to make the same card twice and with this type of technique you wouldn't!! GREAT design!

Three very pretty and fun cards! Simplicity helps fill up the box so I have more time to color. Thanks for the inspiration, Broni!

Broni, your cards are stunning; hard to believe they are simple, too. Love your tip on keeping the choices to a minimum. Probably a good idea for me year round. Have a blessed Christmas!

Wow, Broni, what beautiful cards, and I love the alcohol backgrounds! I've not dared try the technique, but I really love the results. We'll see after the new year!! Hehe! Hugs, sweet friend!

Loving that glittery falalala design!

BONUS! I get more Beachy creativity on my Wednesday wake up :)! "fa la la" (stupid autocorrect changed it to fat lady!?!) is WOW! Like that embossing folder (COOL TEXTURE!) with the glitter - nice pairing! My favorite is the deer. Like how he's in his little s-n-o-w bank. You do a great job of sizing things -- that lovely Merry Christmas doesn't overpower the elegant deer. Off to pack my box for card class tonight. It's time to start my Christmas cards and I have an plan. Happy December!
