Happy Wednesday, everyone!
It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge, and boy, does Vickie have a fabulous combo for us!
~
I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try out an old technique that Jennifer McGuire recently brought back to the limelight – alcohol ink backgrounds. So I pulled out my really old inks and found that they were too old to use. Hmmm. But I have loads of Copic reinkers which are also alcohol inks! So here’s what I came up with.
~
I followed Jennifer’s instructions using my B000 and B21 Copic reinkers and some of the Colorless Blender Solution. I got a much softer look than I would have with the Ranger alcohol inks, but I like how they look for a wintery background. I will be replacing all my old inks in the near future, because I just love this technique and will be using it again for more of my Christmas cards!
Now it’s your turn to play along with us at the Color Throwdown. Link up your new creation to the CTD blog so we can see it! And you may be chosen to be a Guest Star stamper in a future challenge!
And please take a few moments to visit with the other designers and leave them some love.

This sure has me feeling blue that winter's on the way and your alcohol inks were no longer a usable part of your creative arsenal. Lovely card and I believe I really like your silver "believe", especially how it has a shadow. Mostly impressed that you were able to "improvise, adapt and overcome" to pull off your original vision. Good luck getting your Christmas cards done -- this girl isn't feeling it yet.

Really? What happens to alcohol inks? They evaporate? I recently gave away three bottles of alcohol ink and they were super old -- from when they first came out. Of course, I only used them once and I guess you'd have to open the bottles a few times for them to dry out, sheesh. They're in good hands now. However, I do have lots of Copics and colorless blender and I just love what you did with them here! Beautiful, Broni!
