Happy Goldfish - Color Throwdown #449

Ok, who’s ready for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge?

Vickie is our hostess with the mostess and here are the colors she’s chosen:

The generic colors are Orange, Green, and Brown.  Easy enough, right??  I figured I was either going with a floral, a pineapple, or goldfish, and you can see what won….

~

I just love these little Color Layering Goldfish from Hero Arts, don’t you?

The background was smooshed in several different greens.  I painted the sandy bottom, and then decided it looked  like an dark, mucky mess; so I lightened up the water with some Twisted Citron and a little bit of Peacock Feathers.   I stamped on the seaweed then popped the gold fish up on some foam mounting tape.  They were “sparkled” with some Star Dust stickles and I added some Glossy Accents to their eyes.  The “bubbles” in the pond were added using Nuvo Jewel Drops in Key Lime and Sea Breeze.

Being Unique - Color Throwdown #448

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

We have a super fun color combo for you today at the Color Throwdown.   Lynn  is our hostess and the generic colors are Purple, Mint Green, Hot Pink, and Teal.

I needed a fun birthday card for a good friend and decided to use the retired (?) Fabulous Flamingo from Reverse Confetti because I love flamingoes, and because I adore the sentiments in this set.

~

~

I had fun playing some more with the Distress Oxide inks for this background. I used Broken China and Cracked Pistachio and blended it over the white cardstock. Then I misted water onto the raised inside of the Tide embossing folder, placed my blended cardstock into it (blended side of the paper to the misted side of the folder), and ran it through my Big Shot. The water lifted the pattern right off of the cardstock! I also sprinkled some more water onto the layer to get the droplet look.

Then I used the same folder to dry emboss the pink cardstock, and I stamped the awesome sentiment onto the blended cardstock. The flamingo, a few sequins, and a piece of twine completed the card.

Oceans of Joy - Color Throwdown #447

Hello!  Happy Wednesday to you all!

It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown color combo!  This week’s palette is brought to us by our wonderful hostess Lori!

~

I love this wonderful beachy combo!  The generic colors are Navy Blue, Aqua, Lime and Kraft.

It was not very hard for me to choose to make an ocean themed card!

~

~

I used the wonderful Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse stamp set for my ocean creatures. To make the background I cut a plain piece of cardstock using the PTI Waves Cover Plate, then sponged on a couple of Distress Oxide colors through the die cut. I used a baby wipe to blot some of the color away and also sprinkled on some water droplets.

I cut the watercolor panel out using one of the brand new Wonky Rectangles dies.  Love these!!  I also added some Sea Breeze Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Luminous Bouquet - Color Throwdown #446

Hey, y’all!

Not only is it time for another Color Throwdown challenge, but time to reveal another beautiful new image from the fabulous Marcella Hawley over at Poppy Poppy.

Lisa is our CTD hostess this week and here is her wonderful color palette:

I colored up portions of the new Luminous Bouquet using our colors of Green, Yellow and Coral, and I really like how it turned out!

~

~

This gorgeous bouquet was released on Monday for Marcy’s birthday!!  Happy, happy birthday, dear lady!

I printed the no-line image once and the lined image once.  I only colored the large poppy of the lined image and cut it out, popping it  up over the no-line colored image using foam mounting tape.  The beautiful sentiment is from the new Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages set.
