Hello Sunshine - Color Throwdown #436

Hello and happy Wednesday, friends!

The latest and greatest Color Throwdown challenge is up and ready for you to play along!  Lisa is our hostess and she’s asked us to use Light Yellow, Green, and Blue.

My yellow is a little bright I guess, but it’s supposed to be sunshine!

~

~

The background is smooshed using Distress inks.  The sentiment is from the new Simon Says Stamp Easter Greetings set and I used Bokeh Dots from the Essentials by Ellen collection for the sunshine.  I added some embossing paste through my Prima stencil.  Love how that looks!

I did another card too, a little less girly.

Vintage Easter Egg - Color Throwdown #435

Who’s ready for the latest Color Throwdown challenge?  This week, Jodi is our hostess and she’s picked an awesome palette!

What a wonderful combo!

I didn’t get to color up the beautiful new Vintage Easter Egg from Power Poppy when it was released last month, and I REALLY wanted to play with it this week.  These colors were perfect!!

~

~

Don’t you agree?  I colored this beauty with my Copic Markers, then fussy-cut it, and popped it up over some pretty yellow patterned paper.  Of course I had to use some turquoise ribbon to complement the ribbon in the image.  And there just had to be a satin bow for Easter!  Don’t you just love when your image already comes with the perfect sentiment?  I know I do.

Happy birthday in gold - Color Throwdown #434

Yay!  It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  Amy Rohl is our hostess this week and in honor of St. Patrick’s Day she chose a fitting inspiration photo and color combo: Green, Black, and Gold.

I used my Abstract Triangles large background stamp from Simon Says Stamp to make a masculine birthday card.

~

~

I stamped it using my Misti and Versafine Onyx ink then clear embossed it.  I used my Jane Davenport Petite Palette Brights to paint the background, then die cut the Happy in gold and layered it  onto a couple of white die cuts using spray adhesive.  A quick and easy card!

Tropics Birthday - Color Throwdown #433

~

Hi, folks!  It’s my turn to host the Color Throwdown! 

It’s been pretty warm here in the South and Spring is just a couple of weeks away, so let’s welcome it with some fresh new colors:  Cornflower Blue, Green, and White.

~

~

I may have to make a vinyl decal Hello for my front door!  What a great idea!

I went with a very basic design using tropical leaves around the edges of the card to surround the birthday sentiment.

~

~

I am really in love with this Tropics stamp set!  The leaves were stamped in the Distress inks shown in the supply list below.  The sentiment was die cut, stamped using my Misti, and popped up.

Remember these are generic colors and you can add other neutrals if you wish.  You can find all of the challenge details at the CTD blog.

A Novel Birthday - Color Throwdown #432

It’s Color Throwdown challenge time again, folks!  Our very talented teamie Barbara is hosting this week and here are the super bright and fun colors that she chose for us to play with:  Bright Green, Yellow, Red, and Aqua

This is a perfect color palette for a fun birthday card for a friend of mine, using a couple of the images from the MFT Our Story stamp set and matching dies.

~

~

Isn’t that the sweetest little sleeping kitty?  I love her!  She and the books were colored with my Copic markers and the background is smooshed with Distress inks on watercolor paper.
