Transparent Balloons - Color Throwdown #386

Hello, friends! 

It’s time for another Color Throwdown and the colors this week, chosen by Lisa,  are especially fun!

I wanted to try something a little different and decided to use acetate to die cut some balloons for a friend’s birthday card.

~

~

I used my Copic markers to color the back of the die cut SSS balloons.  This caused a little streaking, so I think next time I will try  Copic refills and a paint brush.  The background was created on watercolor paper using Distress inks.  The sentiment is from the WPlus9 Strictly Sentiments set.  I added some sequins and tied some white cotton thread to the balloons to call the card done!

This card is GORGEOUS! In fact, it made me stop mid-bite during my late-night brownie and that is quite the achievement! I think the acetate balloons are brilliant and even though you weren't sure about the streaking, I thought that added a really cool element of texture. They look so dreamy and ethereal.
