A Tiny Monster - Boo!

I’ve got another of the adorable Green-Eyed Monsters from A Day For Daisies to share with you today.  Coming to you in the form of a tiny 3 x 3 card.

This is Monster Cindy!  I love her!  I colored her with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color real brushes.  And doesn’t she look lovely with the water-colored background (using Peerless watercolors)?

Seriously, Sharks - Color Throwdown #366

~

Well, once again it’s Wednesday and time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  Joan is our wonderful hostess this week and she’s chosen a great combo – rust, gray, aqua - that can be used for just about any type of card!!

~

~

I’ve been waiting for just the right occasion to use my blue/gray chameleon from the MFT Polynesian Paradise stamp set on a card and I think I have found it!  My daughter is petrified of sharks so to send her a card about them is about as scary as I could get for her Halloween card!  Seriously!

~

~

That sentiment (from Rubbernecker) is sure to give her a chuckle!!  I love it!

Halloween Treats!!

Dancing Pumpkin Head 2

~

This week is Take 2 of the Pumpkin Heads.  I’m using another Dancing girl, but this time she’s on a treat bag tag.  That’s the latest challenge over at the A Day For Daisies blog – Make a Treat Item.

~

~

She was printed on Mixed Media paper but this time I colored her with my Copic markers.  I cut the paper into a tag and sponged the edges with Distress Old Paper and Dried Marigold inks.

I also added some spider webs by sponging some Black Soot ink through my Shatter stencil.

~

~

Very Merry Christmas - Color Throwdown 365

~

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Today it’s my turn to be the Color Throwdown hostess!

I chose a bold and bright color combo: Fuchsia, Red, Black and White

~

~

Beautiful shoes….but I think I’ll stick to my signature flip-flops!

Anyway, I decided I needed to make another Christmas card (my 2nd of this year) since the fuchsia sparkle reminded me of an ornament.

I used my new Christmas Graphic stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

~

~

I didn’t have the perfect fuchsia color in an ink pad, but I did have a Tombow marker (665) that was just the color I wanted.  So I colored the larger tree stamp with the marker, huffed & puffed on it, then stamped it.  I over-stamped the lined tree in SU Real Red then masked the entire tree image.  I stamped the smaller tree in the red, slightly overlapping the larger tree.  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine onyx black ink.

I added Star Dust stickles to the larger tree frame and Glossy Accents as an outline on the smaller tree and to adhere the sequins.

Dancing Pumpkin Heads

Um, yes, you read that right!  At A Day For Daisies we’re showcasing the Pumpkin Heads!  They are different and they are cute!

Today I’m using Dancing Pumpkin Head #1.

~

~

I printed her on Mixed Media paper and water colored her with my  Kuretake Zig Clean Color brushes.  I have an illness….I can’t put these things down.  They are such a joy to use!

For the striped panel, I simply cut varied widths of 3 different colors of cardstock and adhered them diagonally to a piece of thin cardstock.  Then I cut the entire piece using my Stitched Rectangles die.

Ian's Birthday Turtle - Color Throwdown #364

Hello and happy hump day!

We’ve got another new edition of the Color Throwdown and Barbara has presented us with some soft and beautiful colors to play with – aqua, lime green, and coral.

~

~

I needed a birthday card for an adorable 3 year old and I thought he would probably love the little turtle from the MFT Polynesian Paradise set.  I colored him with Copic markers and die cut him, then placed him above a water colored panel which was cut and separated to let the sentiment on the bottom white panel show through.

~

~

The water color was done with  SU inks, smooshed on my craft sheet and misted with water.

Little Witch Swing - ADFD Oct Club Kit Take 2

Are you ready for some more Halloween cuteness?

The ADFD Club Kit is loaded with adorable little witches to color up for someone special on your Halloween card list.  All the granddaughters will be getting one of these from me!  You can see all the images at the A Day For Daisies shop or on the ADFD blog. 

Today I’m using Little Witch Swing.  Check out that sweet little kitten swinging along with her too!

She’s printed on Mixed Media paper and watercolored with my Kuretake Real Brush Clean Color pens.  The sparkly bat is a sticker.  The latest challenge at the ADFD blog is to ADD BLACK LACE.  I used a Lace Border die cut.

Lucky Me! - Color Throwdown #363

Hello there, everyone!  Well, it’s FINALLY NOT raining here in South Carolina.  Please keep all of the  people affected by the nasty, endless rain we’ve had in your prayers.  It’s truly a huge mess!

On a brighter note, today is Wednesday and time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge!  Yay!  Wanda is our hostess and she’s chosen a subdued and soft color palette.

I chose to make a mixed media card today.  Don’t know why.  Maybe it was the soft colors of light green, light yellow and ivory.

~

~

I used an old Unity Stamp Company image that I love and stamped it in Antique Linen Distress ink onto my mixed media paper.  I also stamped another Unity image (the wavy lines) randomly around the card front after masking my pear.

I colored my pear with my Kuretake Real Brush Clean Color pens and then masked it again to add the Studio 490 white embossing paste.  When that was dry I sponged on some Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink.  I also used the gold ink to sponge around the entire edge of the card front.

I stamped my sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks set in Archival Coffee ink, then added the sequins, and I was done!

Little Witch Waiting
