Hello and happy Wednesday to you all! You know if it’s Wednesday then it’s time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge! Monika is our hostess this week with a rich, deep color palette for us:

Yum! What a lovely color combo: pink, dark blue and black.
I decided to go with a wintery scene and ended up creating my first Christmas card of the year!! Yay for me!
~
I created the background by smooshing Versamark through my homemade falling snow stencil onto my watercolor paper and clear embossing it. Then I sponged on Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, and Faded Jeans Distress inks and spritzed with some water. When that was dry I stamped my tree from the lovely WPlus9 Winter Woodland stamp set. I used the coordinating dies for the deer and bunny, and the JOY is also from that set. I also used the SSS Stitched Slopes and Hills die for the snowy slope. I added a few sparkly sequins and that was it!
My layout is from the WPlus9 Get Sketchy #3 challenge:

We hope you’ll play along with us for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge! Check out all the details at the CTD blog and please be sure to leave some love for each of the wonderful members of the design team!

These colors really do make an awesome winter scene! Love how you embossed the falling snow before sponging!

Boo! Hiss!! No winter for me as I sit here shivering on my sweatshirt. Your card is REALLY pretty, even if I am vetoing the notion of winter. Leave it to you to add sequins to the starry sky, which is exquisite. Sketch is perfection. Hope you've had a wonderful weekend. I cleaned in my studio and it'll last for all the minutes I'm not home...
