Hello all you paper-crafting people! Welcome to Wednesday!
For our latest Color Throwdown challenge, Monika is our hostess and she’s picked the prettiest color combo! See what you think:
~
The colors are light gray, lavender, green and white. Just perfect for a floral card, don’t you think?
I purchased a few of the watercolor floral stamps from Rubbernecker when I was at a stamp/scrap show recently. I had not used them before, and decided this would be a good time to try one of them out. So I pulled out the large Tulip, and this card is the result of my play time.
~
I inked the stamp by coloring directly on it with Tombow markers, misted it lightly with water then stamped it on some Distress watercolor paper. Then I used the markers to add a few shadows and pulled the color onto the petals using a water brush. I love that I could get a true watercolor look using a stamp!
The background was sponged with light gray ink through the Square Lattice stencil around the tulip. I added some sequins and one of the great sentiments from the Sending & Wishing stamp set.
We hope you’ll play along with us this week! Pull out your floral stamps and let’s pretend that Spring is already here! It will be soon!

WOW! Your watercoloring is gorgeous! LOVE the lattice background and so happy you used my favorite ink -- smokey gray. This is sending me the very best spring vibes. Hope it's warm and sunny and spring-like in your neighborhood, too.

Wow, this is such a stunning card! You make it sound so easy but I would have a hot mess I'm sure! :-)

Broni, I love everything about this card. I would never have thought to use such a geometric background with a floral but it works perfectly, and your blossom is just gorgeous. A stunning card.
