Hi, everyone!
It’s Wednesday again and time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge. The super-talented Jodi is our hostess this week and she’s chosen a beautiful inspiration photo and color combo for us to play with.
~
The colors are Dark Pink, Light Pink, Green and Kraft.
Sadly, I needed a sympathy/thinking of you card and decided to use my new Love You So Essentials by Ellen stamp set. I think this sentiment “You are here” accompanied by the heart is perfect for this type of card. Julie E really hit it out of the ballpark with her designs for this release!
~
I sprayed the Distress watercolor paper with water and then spritzed it with Distress Cracked Pistachio Spray Stain. After I dried it with my heat tool I repeated the process to get a more intense amount of color. After I dried it again, I inked up my heart from the same set with Picked Raspberry ink and spritzed it with a little bit of water then stamped it onto the watercolor paper. I wanted it to blend, but not too much. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink, added the twine and sequins, then adhered the panel to my kraft card base with foam mounting tape.
(To see my blog post introducing this stamp set and for a chance to win it, visit THIS POST and leave a comment by March 2.)
This is really a great color combo and I know you’ll love all the projects that my CTD sisters have prepared for you! Check them out below, then take some time to join us for this fun challenge!
Thank you so much for dropping by! I hope you’ll come back soon!
Good Morning, Dear. So sorry you needed this card. What a wonderful notion / sentiment for it, though. I see you have the January Distress color, bad influence. These are lovely colors. I did notice that the pistachio isn't quite the green in the challenge, but it is closer to the beach in the grand spectrum, plus it's NEW and all your other colors are perfectly matchy-matchy, so I'll just point out you are slightly less than absolutely perfect for this one. Could it be stress from having 295 comments on the previous post here? Happy 1/2 way to the weekend.

Fantastic card Broni. Love the distressed splatter with the script heart and greeting. The sequins look wonderful.

Hi Broni,
Love the soft non-static spritzing of ink behind your heart. The sentiment ties your card up so nicely.
Have a great week.
