Hi, everyone!
Today is the day to reveal another great color combo from the Color Throwdown girls! This week Wanda is our hostess and she’s chosen a vibrant and fun palette!
~
Love that patchwork heart! So much so that I had to try and recreate my own!
I did it by cutting varying widths of patterned papers and adhering them to a piece of black cardstock. Then I cut strips in the opposite direction and then adhered those onto another piece of black cardstock.
~
Shortly after taking this photo, I totally annihilated my Grand Calibur by trying to run the patchwork heart through it. It was stuck in the machine. Big time. I disassembled it and still could not get my plates and patchwork heart out. George ending up having to cut the thing with a hacksaw to get the plates out. So my patchwork heart and the die were saved, but my Grand Calibur is nothing but little pieces of plastic and metal now. Time to look for a new machine and I’m gladly taking suggestions! So bring them on!
Anyway…..here’s my finished card:
~
I really like how it turned out! Good thing after all the trouble I went through to get it done, huh?!!
My card was also created for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #11 - Love theme.
And my layout was taken from this week’s Deconstructed Sketch #185.

Please come and play along with us this week! You know you want to use these fun colors! And be sure to check out the awesome creations from our fabulous design team!
Thank you so much for dropping in today! I hope you have a wonderful week. And don’t forget to give me your suggestions for a new die cutting/embossing machine! I’d appreciate it!
Fantastic card Broni. Love the patchwork heart. What a perfect take on the photo! Sorry to hear about your GC. I use a Big Shot, most of the time... I still have my Cuttlebug for dry embossing and when I travel...

Thanks, Monika! I have an electronic Big Shot that only works SOME of the time. Ive already had it repaired once. I love it but I need something totally dependable. I may still have my Cuttlebug somewhere. Ill have to look for that to be my backup!

RIP, Broni's Grand Calibur! Bless you, George and your handy hacksaw! COOL card. Seriously LOVE your vision!! I have a cuttlebug that I take to play dates where there isn't a machine. I use a Big Shot most all of the time. A couple words of caution on the Vagabond. My friend Carolyn had one. Never misused it and it quit after a few months. She got a replacement unit that also quit about a year later. I lugged it to my Mr Wonderful and we took it apart to see if we could fix it. My previous career had me scrounging parts for stuff and Jeff can fix darn near everything. I found a gear with the correct ratio, but it was too costly to make it worthwhile. I wouldn't invest my hard earned money in one after seeing my friend's frustrations. She went back to her Big Shot. And that, my dear beachy friend, is another opinionated notion from the mouth in the mitten. Happy headin' toward the weekend!

Oh no!!! I almost feel guilty for causing your GC to die! :-( I've only ever had a Cuttlebug and then a Big Shot (manual - not automatic). I love it but then I haven't used anything different for comparison. I really LOVE your patchwork heart!! Never thought to try that technique but it's totally perfect!

LOVE your heart, Broni! It's absolutely perfect for this challenge, and not something I would have EVER thought to do!
Be sure to see the email I sent you about my Big Shot! And you know too, how much Bar loves that Vagabond! If I could have got one for a good price I would have just gone that route myself.
