Hello and happy Wednesday, everyone!
Are you ready for a new Color Throwdown challenge? Our lovely and sweet team member Joan is the host this week and I think her color combo rocks!!
~
Isn't that a lovely photo? I thought this palette would work well as a snowy sky, so I pulled out my new WPlus9 Snowflake Backdrops stamp set and Snowflake Trio dies, and created this card:
~
I made my own stamp pad using some Ranger Cut-N-Dry Felt and some Distress reinkers.
~
I pressed my stamp into the pad, spritzed the inked stamp lightly with water, and then stamped it onto the watercolor paper. I did this several times using different amounts of water and different weights of papers. My favorite turned out to be when I dabbed the extra water/ink with a paper towel after stamping it. This gave it a more even and dreamy effect!
You can save your "stamp pad" in a plastic baggie for a very long time. If it dries out a little, just add more ink!
~
This is a technique I learned many, many years ago when I was on the Rubbernecker Stamp design team. So it's definitely a blast from the past. Thus, I'm entering my card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Good ol' Days:
~
My layout is from this week's retrosketches #139:
~
And I'll be entering this card into Virginia's View Challenge #09 - All Things Metallic (I used silver thread and enamel dots.):
~
We at the Color Throwdown hope you'll play along with us! You just need to use similar colors and post a direct link to your creation at the Color Throwdown blog! Also please be sure to visit with the rest of the CTD team here:
Thanks so much for stopping in today! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Such a pretty card Broni. I love that technique with the pad. I've never tried it, but it's awesome. The colors look fantastic.
