Black Cat One ... is not a black cat!

Happy Friday, y'all!  Thank goodness!

Today I've got a sweet little princess to share with you from A Day For Daisies.  There's a new release and it's all about Pretty Black Cats.  So of course I had to go against convention and color my kitty as a calico!

She looks more like a couple of my felines who have since gone on to kitty heaven.  I miss my Winkle and Mini-Winkle.

Tiny Teacup Fairies

~

Hello, friends, and happy Friday!!!!

It's time to show you some more sensational new A Day For Daisies images!  This week we're showcasing Tiny Teacup Fairies and Fruit!  And we're also starting a new challenge over at the ADFD blog:  ADFD challenge #105 - Anything Goes!

My choice of the images to color up today is the Extra Cream Fairy.  She's so darling!

I used another of my "ghetto" (made by me) stencils to apply some Studio 490 embossing paste to the 5.5 square card base.  I also used it to create the fluffy cream.

I colored her with my Copic markers.  Her wings are coated with Star Dust Stickles and the background was colored and "dotted" with my Copic markers.

I fussy cut her and popped her up on some foam mounting tape.

Pretty Peonies - Color Throwdown #310

~

Well, hello, y'all!

It's Wednesday so you know that means it's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  Wanda is our hostess this week and her color palette is simply lovely!

These beautiful colors called for floral images, so I pulled out my brand new Pretty Peonies set from WPlus9.  Oh, the potential that is just waiting to be unleashed with this set!  There are so many different ways to use these fabulous images!  I chose to stamp the floral outlines only and then use my water brush and some additional ink to paint them.

~

~

I LOVE how these flowers just come alive with a little bit of color! The SU inks I used are Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Coastal Cabana.

I used a sentiment from the Fresh Cut Florals set to finish the card front.  I also decided to add some extra color down along the right edge of the water color paper by simply painting the edge.

Smile - a pre-teen boy birthday card

Flower Maiden 2 - September Club Kit take 2

Hi, all!  I am SO glad it's Friday again!  I sure do love my weekends!

Today, the A Day For Daisies design team is sharing more of the September Club Kit images.  I chose to use Flower Maiden 2, and I decided to create a mixed media piece.  It's unfinished (because I'm not sure if I'll adhere it to a canvas or put it in a  frame), but it's ready to be shown to you!

I was heavily influenced by Danielle Donaldson and her beautiful unique art. In fact, I started taking an online class of hers, but can't seem to find enough quality time to devote to finishing it yet.  Hopefully, when the weather's not so nice, I can finish it!  And hopefully take more!  Her work is so beautiful and it just fascinates me!!

With that said, here's my Flower Maiden 2:

She started out being printed (she's a digital image, you know) on a piece of 6 x 8 watercolor paper that I had in my stash.  I had already added splashes of color to it using Distress inks at an earlier time.  You can also see that I started adding some diluted white paint around her to make her "pop".

The heart is outlined with "shine"!

With Deepest Sympathy - Color Throwdown #309

Hey and happy Wednesday, y'all!  I'm ready for the weekend already! How about you?

This week we're starting a little something different at the Color Throwdown.  Always in the past we've used the Stampin' Up! colors for our color swatch.  Well, we wanted to open up the color spectrum a little; so now we're only using the colors themselves and not the SU color names.  It should still be easy to match to SU colors, but now it may be a little easier for others to match to their own paper collections as well. 

Vickie is our wonderful and talented hostess this week and here's her chosen palette:

I decided to use all the bold colors to their fullest on my card.  No white for me this week!  I used Basic Gray, Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Lucky Limeade as my paper choices.

~

The "leaves" are actually a new Prima stencil called Décor II.  I pressed my Versamark pad through the stencil onto the gray cardstock, then heat embossed it with some lime embossing powder.  I added some shadows using my Stabilo black pencil and smudged them a little with my finger.

Painterly Effects and the Sept ADFD Club Kit

Hey, everyone!  It's time for a new A Day For Daisies Club Kit.  I'm always excited to see Tammy Thompson's beautiful new images.  These are amazing!  You can see them all at the ADFD shop or on the ADFD blog.

We're also starting a new challenge - use Painterly Effects (or watercolor effects).

I'm using the 4 new images called Painted Flowers this week.  I didn't watercolor though.  At least not with water colors.  I used the same technique but on Mixed Media paper with Copic Various Ink Colorless Blender fluid and my Copic markers.

After I printed the images and let them dry, I doused each one with the Blender fluid.

~

~

Then I colored as usual with my Copic markers.  This allowed for a more fluid look.  I really like how they turned out!
