Hello there!
It's Wednesday and time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge! Can you handle it?
This week Joan is our hostess and she's chosen a "bugger" of an inspiration photo for us!
~
He's a cutie but I don't think I want to run across him in my yard! I bet the strength of his poison matches his beauty!
I decided to go with a mixed media card today. I had a small (3.5 x 5.5) piece of white cardstock and wanted to try coloring just the raised portion of an embossed image. This is what I came up with:
~
I used Studio 490 white embossing paste and the Rays stencil and then heat blasted it with my heat tool to help it dry faster.
~
Then I replaced the stencil over the dried paste and spritzed on some Dylusions Pure Sunshine ink spray.
~
I ended up with some great texture. This is all the elements laid out before anything is actually attached. You can click on the photo to see it larger.
~
And here's the finished card again. It ended up being 3.75 x 5.5.
~
We hope you'll play along with us this week. Grab your colors and get inky! And be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has come up with for your viewing pleasure and inspiration:

It's a beautiful card. I'm loving the embossing paste technique. I need to give that a try.
