Hello and happy Friday! Yay for the weekend!
We're still trying to bring on the Springtime with our beautiful ADFD Spring Flowers images. This week I'm using the Spring Poppy Bunch.
~
Why purple poppies? Because I wanted to use a scrap piece of cardstock that I had used to clean my brayer on when I was Gelli printing.
I started by printing my image on a scrap piece of copy paper. Then I decided where on the Gelli print I wanted the image, and taped the Gelli printed cardstock on top of the printed copy paper image. I ran it through the printer again and this is what I got:
~
While it was still taped to the copy paper, I tried out different Copic colors until I found the ones I wanted to use.
~
Then I removed the cardstock with the image from the copy paper, cut it to size, and colored it up. (I'm not specifically recommending that you use your Copic markers to color over acrylic paint, which is what I had used on my Gelli print. I do keep extra marker tips in case I ruin a tip doing something different like this. In this case, my markers seemed to be ok afterward.)
Well, what do you think? Do you like how it turned out?
You can find all the new images at the ADFD website, and please be sure to check out what the rest of the ADFD design team has created for your Springtime inspiration:

This is perfect for the spring we're having -- cold and crisp! Neat idea to use your scrap. Happy to read you didn't mess up your markers, since I like your coloring A LOT! Happy Weekend!
