Is it Wednesday again ALREADY?? I can't believe how quickly time is flying by these days.
I had quite a full weekend. How about you? I took my daughters to lunch on Saturday after taking the birthday girl to the Ortho Urgent Care. She had badly sprained her ankle the night before. After dropping her off at home that afternoon, I stopped at the grocery store. Leaving there I noticed it had started to drizzle - again. As I drove the 20 miles home, the rain turned to slush, covering the roads and freezing my windshield wipers. By the time I was halfway home, I could barely see the road. And then when I finally arrived home, we had 2 - 3 inches of snow, freezing the already wet roads. Yes, I slid around the corners and drove very slowly, and got home without a scratch to myself or my car. I don't remember the last time we actually had such a full-on blizzard here in this part of the country! It was beautiful when it was over, but now I'm done with this cold weather, I tell ya!

Ok, so let's get on to the Wednesday business! It's Color Throwdown challenge time again! Barbara is our fabulous host this week and she's chosen some beautiful earthy colors for us to play with.
~
I decided to be a little different (AGAIN) this week. I wanted to use my new Mini Blueprints #4 stamp set from eclectic Paperie. I decided to use an ivory cardstock base and just use scraps of the colors from the combo.
~
I love the look of the images without color, so I just added some blue shading with my Copic markers. It IS a blueprint!! I also scribbled some of the lime color onto the card base beneath where the image panel would go, just to make it stand out a little more.
At this point, I didn't think there was enough blue and I was also using the layout from this week's retrosketches #51 which called for 3 circles along the left edge of the card, so I colored them with my Copics. I used my Copic multiliner pen to outline the circles and to draw additional blueprint lines along the card edges.
~
And that's it for me! I hope you'll join us in this week's challenge! You can check out all the rules and details at the Color Throwdown blog. And please stop by to visit with each of the Color Throwdown gals as well:

Thanks so much for stopping by!
OH, I love this! That cupcake looks yummy enough to eat! It really pops, perched atop your perky red banner. Great design...I love that you kept the sketch element of the stamp consistent with your design. Brilliant! And the three circles added to the left was really a good call. So glad you made it home safely. We had snow here, too...but not like you did! Yowza! Enjoy this beautiful sunshine today. My dh told me to video it, as we probably won't see it again for several days. Like you, I am ready for spring!

Really cool card! Like your blueprint concept. Great use of scribbles to get the lime color in, too. I am always impressed with how you're willing to use your own skills to add to your creation, like those blue circles. I am not going to be impressed with you if you took those photos while driving. Weather can kill and you're too precious to die, at least in my opinion. Be careful, Broni!

Wow...you really rocked this blueprint stamp! LOVE that you shaded it with blue and left it colorless and the green "scribble" is such a great touch! Very creative and beautiful card!

Sorry to hear about your daughter spraining her ankle, och! I hope she had a good birthday even though she did hurt herself. Your snowy pictures are pretty but the older I get the less I like driving in it, glad you made it home safe and sound. Fantastic birthday card, love the graphic feel and your use of the colors!

I like your card Broni!! Those images with the scientific look to them are cool. I like how you scribbled the green behind your image.

Oh my goodness, I love this card. The blueprint of the cupcake is just too cute. And, your card layout and the elements you used are amazing.

This is fabulous, Broni! Love how you shaded around the image instead of coloring to really draw attention to it.
