Home Lunch - A Day For Daisies challenge #52

Good Friday, y'all!  Are you doing the weekend happy dance like me?

Today, my A Day For Daisies card is all about going back to school.  I've got grandkids in the 7th, 5th, and 1st grades, so I'm pretty familiar with all the excitement, stress and preparation that's involved!

This week's release is called School Days and I chose to use the Home Lunch image.  LOVE that there's a note from Mom in the lunch box!

The latest ADFD blog challenge starts today too!  It's called "Break Out the School Supplies" and obviously I chose to incorporate a ruler (even if it is a mini!).

Happy Days - Color Throwdown #207

Hello, everyone!  It's time again for the latest Color Throwdown challenge.  Lori is our hestess this week with one of the happiest color combos I've seen!

~

Of course it doesn't hurt that the sweet inspiration photo is of yummy popsicles!!  Maybe that's why it makes me feel happy!

I chose to go simple this week, using a Papertrey Ink set that I've had but that had not seen ink before today - Happy Hexagons.  Of course I used the Cover Plate - Hexagons too.

FTTC184 - Grab Life...

Hello, everyone!

It's time again for another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge!

Denise is our hostess this week and she's challenged us to use blue and purple  as our main colors.  That's easy!  I love blue and purple together!

I decided to play with my Bike Ride stamp set, which I absolutely love!  A purple bike is definitely in order!

I also decided to use the Deconstructed Sketch DS166:

So here's my purple bike:

After I colored my image using the Flourishes copic color collections listed below, I cut it out.  It's popped up on some foam tape to give it added dimension.  I didn't use black cardstock to mat the layers.  Instead I used my Copic 100 marker and a straight edge to outline each layer.  The bow and and the button tied with kraft jute highlight the sentiment banner.

Yummy! It's Friday!!

I always SO look forward to Fridays!  Not just because it's the start of the weekend, although that alone makes me want to do a happy dance each week!  But also because I get to show you another A Day For Daisies image that I've colored!  I so look forward to each week when I get to choose a new image and play with it.

This particular image, "Cookie Jar", from the Yummy  release, is so expressive and precious on it's own that I decided to try to highlight it with a darker than usual background and a very simple layout.

I only used 3 supplies (all from eclectic Paperie) other than the cardstock to create this card, yet I think it's one of my favorites.  I simply scored the cardstock with my Scor-Buddy, colored with my Copic markers, and tied it up with some Pink Sorbet twine.

Butterfly Kisses Float - Color Throwdown #206

Hi there, everyone!  I've got a triple challenge card for you today!

And last, but not least, I've used this week's CPS279 sketch:

So here's my card using the OCL stamp set Butterfly Kisses and some great DP from Graphic 45 called A Lady's Diary. 

~

~

The blue layer and the butterfly are actually ivory cardstock, painted with Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress stain.  And all the edges of the paper were rubbed with Frayed Burlap stain.

Butterflies, Bees, Spiders, oh my!

Isn't that the cutest title for a challenge?  Makiko is this week's host for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge, and she's challenged us to use an insect on our creations.

I don't have many insect images and none from Flourishes, so I opted to use the Bell Flower from my new With Gratitude stamp set and a punched butterfly.

I wanted to keep the card simple to show off the beautiful flowers.  I cut the shape with my Silhouette Cameo and then stamped and colored them.  And I love the block of gratitude sentiments so much that I had to use them as a focal point as well.

A little bling on the butterfly, a lacy border die cut and some seam binding and I'm done!

Flourishes 5th Birthday - It's a Banner Day!

It's Flourishes 5th Birthday and we think that's a reason to celebrate! So... we are ushering in a 2-4-6-8, Help Flourishes Celebrate Day! I wanted it to be bright, happy and fun!  I think I may have accomplished that by using the ColourQ #150 for this week!

I cut out one of the fabulous images from the new Garden Picks stamp set using my Silhouette Cameo and then colored it up with my Copic markers.  I scored the background teal layer vertically and used little pennant stickers to create my banner.
