Hey, guys! How's your weekend going so far? I had planned on going to a couple of little league baseball games, but it seems Mother Nature decided there was no need for ballgames this weekend. Rain, rain go away!!
But now it seems I have time to show you a card that I made for this week's OCL blog challenge #61 using Shamrock Blessings and Butterfly Kisses, both from Our Craft Lounge. The challenge was to make a CAS card using something clear. Now if you just look at my card, you may not be able to see what's clear.
~
Can you guess what's clear? Yeah, you can't really see it so let me show/tell you what I did.
I stamped my butterfly on a piece of an old book page and stuck it to a small piece of a Humungo Killer Tape Sheet from Ten Seconds Studio that I had precut. Then I adhered the other side to a piece of Clearly for Art Modeling Film from Studio 490, and cut it out.
~
Let me tell you this modeling film is awesome!! While holding it with a pair of tweezers, I heated it with my Heat It craft tool. While it was still warm enough to be pliable, but cool enough to handle, I shaped the wings. Now if it doesn't look exactly how you want, you only have to heat it again and reshape it. No mistakes! Awesome!
~
Pretty cool, huh?
The rest of the card is pretty simple (CAS, you know). I did want to tell you that I used a strip of 1/4" Scor-Tape to adhere the dyed seam binding to the card, scrunching as I went, and stapled the ends. The butterfly is attached with foam mounting tape.
I appreciate your stopping by for a visit. I hope your weekend is great and your weather is better than ours is at the moment!

This is AMAZING, girl! Oh my word...I LOVE the unique technique you used with the modeling film for your butterfly. I've never even heard of it, much less USED it! Thanks for schooling me ;] Love how you added your ruffled seam binding with little staples and the book page that keeps your CAS design looking a little vintage. Beautiful, girl!
