FTTC207 - You Are Loved!

Hello, everyone!  It's Tuesday and time for the latest and greatest Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge! 

~

~

Makiko is our hostess this week and she's asked us to use a heart element in our creation.

Well, I just happened to have oodles of book-print hearts left over from my altered book, so I thought one of those would be perfect to use today.

I kept my card simple because I really wanted the Inside & Out YOU sentiment to take center stage.  This has to be one of the most perfect sentiment stamps sets around!  I could use it on every single card I make and it would work!

I stamped my sentiment on Flourishes Classic White cardstock using Memento tuxedo black ink, and cut it out.  The card base is also made from the Classic White cardstock.  My pink heart is cut from some Poppy Paper Collection textured cardstock using my Silhouette. The patterned paper is from the PB&J collection from Basic Grey.

I used this week's retrosketches #50 sketch and the color combo from the Paper Players PP132 challenge.

Love Hearts - Color Throwdown #228

Hello!  It's time for a new challenge from the Color Throwdown!  Tammy is our hostess this week and I just love this color combo!

~

~

It's just perfect for Valentine's Day, of course, but also perfect for so many other occasions!  Since I got my Love Hearts from A Day For Daisies I decided to use them again for just one more Valentine card!  Just a little more sophisticated this time!

~

~

I used my TCW mini-Punchinella template and some Versamark ink to created the dotted effect on the gray panel.  My layout was inspired by this week's retrosketch #49.

~

~

Valentines Conversation Hearts

Good Sunday morning, y'all!

My BFF Karen and I went on a crafting road trip last Monday to a shop we'd been planning to visit for a very long time, The Enchanted Cottage, in Lewisville, NC.  We had a fabulous time together and actually ended up spending 4 hours perusing everything the shop had to offer.  While we both found multiple "must-haves", I was disappointed that I didn't find any candy conversation heart stamps.  I wanted some to make some of the grandkids' Valentines Day cards.

Lo and behold when I returned home and checked my email, the latest A Day For Daisies release notification was there.  When I checked out all the fabulous images that Tammy Thompson had created for the February Club Kit…..there were my conversation hearts!  I was thrilled!

So today I have a card to show you using the newly released Love Hearts from A Day For Daisies.

I just had to color the hearts exactly as you would find them in a bag of candy hearts.  Three of them - Love Me, Call Me, and Kiss Me - were colored a second time, cut out, and popped up using foam mounting tape.  What a super sweet image!

Words Can't Express - Color Throwdown #227

Hi there, everyone!  Are you ready for the latest and greatest edition of the Color Throwdown?  Lynn is our hostess this week and she's chosen a very beautiful and very versatile combo for us.

~

~

I decided to go a different route this week from the usual Valentine's Day cards to a Valentine/Love inspired altered journal page. 

~

~

The sentiment is stamped in Archival Coffee ink, and I also used Distress Crushed Olive, Frayed Burlap, Spun Sugar, and Worn Lipstick inks.  You can see a complete list of the products (most from eclectic Paperie) at the end of this post.

There are a lot of layers and techniques to this page.  I won't go into all the details today, but I'll be hosting the eclectic Paperie blog this Saturday, February 2nd, so stop by and I'll have some detail shots as well as some instructions at that time.

Lime & Lavender Love - Color Throwdown #226

It's time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge!  Are you ready?  Denise is our lovely hostess and she's chosen some bright and happy colors for us this week:

Now I may have gone a little overboard on this one.  Yes, I know it's a little different.  But I think I know a very special little 6 year old who will think it's really cool!

~

~

I was going to use the paper doily, but when I sprayed it with the Fresh Lime Dylusions ink spray I really liked how the paper underneath it looked.  So that's what I went with.  Then I just added some Target paper tape, some hearts punched from scraps and some of that yummy lavender seam binding from Flourishes.  The "LOVE" is part of a sentiment from the Inside & Out Just Because stamp set  from Flourishes.  I added some bling to complete the card.

Voila!  A super easy and fun Valentine for one of my grandkids!

FTTC204 - You Are Loved!

Hello, everyone!  It's time for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge!

~

~

Cindy is our hostess and she's asked us to use 4 brads/pearls, a circle, and a fishtail banner in our creations.  At first I thought this may be a little difficult to incorporate all these items into one project.  But then I spotted the Cardabilities sketch #67 for this week:

Awesome!  I had a plan!!

Of course I wanted to use some of the newest released stamp sets.  I pulled out Roses Are Red and Inside & Out You.  How perfect to make another Valentine card for my stash!

The rose was stamped on Flourishes Classic white cardstock and colored with these Copic collections:

~

~

I used both a classic circle and lacey circle Nestabilities to cut out the chocolate layer.  I embossed just the classic circle and then taped it back into the lacey circle.  The card base and the fishtail banner with "You" on it are both made from Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.   I stamped the "are loved" portion of the sentiment in both Memento Rich Cocoa and Desert Sand colors to give it a little shadowed effect.

I didn't have the perfect pink ribbon match for the rose so I pulled out some eggshell seam binding and colored it with my R83 Copic from the Lenten Rose Collection.  I added some more fishtail banners from my patterned paper and a "swish" of pearls to finish the design.  I'm rather pleased with how it turned out!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, it's finally here!  My big plans for today include working and going to my grandson's basketball game.  They're in the semi-finals, so it should prove to be very exciting.  Besides, it gives me the opportunity to see the boys on Valentine's Day!

This is probably the last year I'll be able to get away with giving the boys "cutesy" Valentines.  They're getting a little old for that!  Hopefully, they'll indulge Nana this year!

For these cards I used 2 adorable digital images from A Day For Daisies - Bringing You Love from this month's Club Kit and Bunny Loves You, which is a freebie if you hurry!

~

~

These precious little guys are colored with Copic markers and the large heart is paper-pieced.  The silver hearts are mini cookie cutter decorations that I picked up at Christmas from Hobby Lobby.

Now, here's the card I made for my honey, George, using Heart and Soul, which is the Unity January 2012 KOTM. 

The larger scalloped heart was die cut and then sponged with Ranger Distress inks - worn lipstick and fired brick.  Gotta love those coupon images!  I scored between them using a rotary scorer I had in my sewing stash.

Airbrushed Desert Sky Valentine

~

~

I know.  What an odd post title.  But it really does describe my card today.

~

~

I used the Wanted stamp set from Our Craft Lounge to make this card for one of our grandsons.  I wanted a "different" look for the background, so I decided to use my Mini Punchinella mask and airbrush a desert sunset.

He'll think it's cool!
