Taylored Expressions March Sneak Peek: From My Window

Hey there, y'all!

I'm so excited to show you this sneak peek of a new release from Taylored Expressions called From My Window.  What an awesome set!  And it pairs perfectly with the new Arched Window die. 

Oh my, I just couldn't help but make a scene looking out "my window" from my beach cottage, complete with wood siding walls.

I colored the wonderful coastal image using Copic markers and mounted it behind 2 layers of the Arched Window die cut.  Everything is popped up on 1/16" foam mounting tape.

I had such fun making the walls using strips of white cardstock.  They were dry brushed with some Frayed Burlap and Tumbled Glass Distress inks.  Then the bottom edge of each "plank" was rubbed using an emery board also pressed into the Frayed Burlap.  This is how I put the wall together onto the card front.

The little sign was made the same way.  The sentiment (which I LOVE) was stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.

FTTC205 - A Vintage Love Multiplies

~

Hi folks!  Today is Tuesday and time for a new Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge! 

~

~

Amanda, our fearless leader, is also our hostess today and she's asked to CREATE A VINTAGE CARD OR PROJECT.

I chose to use the new Just My Type stamp set again.  I love it so!  I went with a mono-chromatic theme of neutrals which I believe fits right into the vintage style.  It's a little shabby and a little chic and very sparkly!

I cut a piece of patterned paper using my Perfectly Pierced Victorian Ovals die, stamped the Love Multiplies sentiment on it using Distress Frayed Burlap ink and then sponged around the edges with my ink blending tool and the Frayed Burlap ink.

I layered some soft suede cardstock onto my kraft base, then added a layer of Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, embossed with polka dots, and popped up using foam mounting tape.  Next I adhered a strip of crocheted lace, a neutral multi-colored ribbon, some eggshell seam binding and a couple of rows of hearts cut with my Silhouette. 

I punched a vellum heart, sponged the edges, then glued it to the back of my Maya Road Vintage Kraft Flag Pin.  I popped up a tiny heart (from the center of the open heart border die cut) onto the flag.  This was attached to the back of the Victorian Oval die cut then it was all adhered to the card front using foam mounting tape. 

The last step was to apply lots of sparkly glitter to all the polka dots and the tiny popped-up heart.

FTTC199 - Celebrate the Season!

Hello, Timeless Tuesday fans!  This week's challenge is super fun!  Allison has challenged us to create a Christmas card using non-traditional Christmas colors!  No red or green!  Whoa! 

~

~

That really is a challenge….especially if you're using a Christmas tree as your image!  But somehow I muddled through!

~

~

I used Memento Teal Zeal ink to stamp my tree image from Trimmed With Love onto some kraft cardstock.   I cut the sentiment tag using the new Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames and sponged on some Distress Tumbled Glass ink while it was still in the die.  Then I stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The strips along the left edge were made with Flourishes Classic White cardstock, 2 colors from the Emerald Coast paper collection, and a piece of patterned paper from the Basic Grey Manila 6x6 paper pad.  I tied some blue twine and silver metallic thread around the strip and finished off the card with some clear rhinestones, including a star rhinestone for the top of the tree.

ADFD Thankful Hearts and challenge #57

Hello and happy Friday, everyone!  It's time to show you the latest release from A Day For Daisies.  This one is so beautiful and is perfect for Fall and Thanksgiving!

I chose to use the beautiful "Love of Birds" image and colored her up with some warm Autumn colors using my Copic markers.  She was printed on some ivory cardstock and then cut with a petite oval die and mounted on a kraft Floral Oval die cut.  The patterned paper is from the retired Basic Grey Indian Summer 6x6 paper pad.

FTTC190 - Fresh Baked!

Hi, everyone!   I'm super excited to be hosting this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge .  This is also Day 2 of Flourishes Sneak Peeks for October and today the entire Timeless Tuesday team is joining in to help introduce the brand new release "Fresh Baked".

This week's challenge is TREATS!  I'm asking that you make a card or project using something yummy as your focal image!

I chose to use the delicious looking pie image.  I stamped it in Memento tuxedo black ink onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and colored it up with my Copic markers.  I also sponged around some of the edges using Frayed Burlap Distress ink and an ink blending tool.  I added a little texture by tying some Kraft Jute around the layers.

Doesn't it look yummy?!  I made my pie cherry and used some basic country colors to compliment it.

Whew!  And you may think this is a Halloween card.  It certainly has all the elements to be one.  But it's not!

~

~

This is actually the card I made for my sister's 60th birthday.  Yeah, she's WAY older than me!    She's got a great sense of humor, so I think she'll get a kick out of it!  The inside will say "Happy Birthday.....from one OLD ghoul to another!"

After I embossed the black Core'dinations paper, I sanded it with my Idea-ology Sanding Grip Block to let the lime color show through.  I distress the edges of all my layers by running my Tonic scissors all along them.  I wrapped the Honeydew Twinery twine around the distressed layer 3 times and tied it in a bow.  The graveyard scene was stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink and the EEEK! was stamped in Ranger Distress Shabby Shutters.  (All of these can be found at eclectic Paperie.)

OCL126 Ducky Days

Good Sunday morning to you all!

I just had to play along in the Our Craft Lounge blog challenge this week - OCL126: Include a sun on your card.  (The card on the far right with the big HAPPY is mine!)

~

~

It's been raining a lot here for the past couple of days.  I'm NOT complaining; we all need rain!  I wish I could send some of it to all the farmers who are still waiting for it.  So I felt that this adorable little guy from Ducky Days would be the perfect image to use.  I also included the cute little sun from the same stamp set.

~

~

I'm not sure if you can see it, but I used the Rays folder on the card front.  The lime green polka dots are a strip of paper tape, backed by a piece of white cardstock.  That panel, the main image panel, and the sentiment and tiny sun are all popped up on foam mounting tape.
