Blueprint Party - Color Throwdown #242

Hi, all!  It's time for the newest Color Throwdown challenge!  Lori is our hostess and she always comes up with the most fun color combos!  Check it out:

I decided that the inspiration photo and the colors called for a party!  So here's my party card:

~

~

I used the Mini Blueprints stamp set and I stayed about as far away from grungy as you can get!  I stamped each of the party elements in a different color Distress ink to match our color palette.  There's some glitter here and there, the cupcake is popped up on foam mounting tape , and I tied 4 different colors of Twinery's scrumptious twine around the card front.

FTTC#220 - Blue and Green

Hi everyone!  This week it's my turn to host the Timeless Tuesday challenge.  My challenge to you is to use the colors Blue and Green.  It's pretty simple…Whether you color your image blue and green or just use blue /green ribbon, it's up to you.

I used the beautiful new Old Tea Rose stamp set for my card.  It's stamped in Desert Sand Memento ink onto Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock. 

~

~

My card base is also ivory and I used mats from both the Pistachio and Emerald Coast paper collections.  I rolled back one of the corners and added some beautiful Teal Blue seam binding.  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Cocoa ink.

I colored the rose itself in neutrals and then colored the leaves in greens and the background in blues using these Copic collections:

We've made a few changes in our team since last week.  Our sweet teammate Cindy Haffner is sadly leaving us.  However, we are bringing 3 new members on board this week!  We're super excited to welcome them!!  Here's the new lineup:

With My Mother

This weekend is Mother's Day, so now is certainly a great time to use images from the newest A Day For Daisies club kit. The images are just breathtaking!

I chose to use With My Mother  this week.  It's such a sweet rendition of a mother and her young daughter. And if you look really closely, you can see all the tiny hearts drawn within each line.  That is just too clever and cool!

I printed the image onto some white cardstock and then cut the chevron pattern using my Silhouette.  It's the first time I've tried creating my own design and it was really fun to do!

I colored them up with my Copic markers, sponged the edges with some Distress Peacock Feathers ink, then tied on a sentiment banner with a button & Blossom twine.

Enjoy the Journey - Color Throwdown #241

Howdy there, folks!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!  Today, Joan is our mega-talented hostess and she's chosen a most beautiful floral image as her inspiration:

I almost pulled out some floral images but then decided it was time to get inky!  That's always fun, don't ya think??

~

~

I started by smooshing some Distress Bundled Sage onto my craft sheet, spritzing it with water, and then laying my kraft card front down into it.  I dried it with my heat gun, then adhered some Coffee Filter Words tissue paper using Studio Matte Multi-Medium.  When that was dry,I spritzed the card front with some Dylusions White Linen ink spray.

I stamped the dragonfly from the Bo Bunny Serenade collection in elegant eggplant onto the card front, then stamped some of the smaller images in eggplant and mellow moss.

Next I layered on some cardstock strips and washi tape and the Stacked Artful Words die cut.  To finish the card I dipped my finger into some of the White Linen ink spray and ran it all along the card front edges.  Then I tied on some Twinery Lilac twine and I was done!

For my card today, I chose to use the sweet  image that's shown in the sneak peek graphic.  I just love it!  I die cut a piece of Flourishes Classic White cardstock using the Perfectly Pierced Victorian Oval then stamped her in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

I colored her using these Copic collections:

~

The card base is Classic kraft and the patterned papers are matted on Classic black cardstock.  She's popped up on foam tape and framed using a Want 2 Scrap Nestabling Lacey Oval of black rhinestones.

I'm playing along in this week's Dynamic Duos #51 (to celebrate my friend Janet making the team!) and I'm also entering this card into the CAS-ual Fridays #100 challenge (polka dots, kraft, punches or dies):

Wild Nymphs!

It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for a brand new A Day For Daisies Club Kit!  They're always amazing and this month is no different!  What could possibly be wrong with Wild Nymphs!!

~

I chose to play with the beautiful Wild Rose Nymph.  She's just precious.  At first the eyes scared me a little - they're so big!  But once I colored them up, I fell in love with her all over again!  You can see her and all the Wild Nymphs at the A Day For Daisies shop.

~ 

There's also a new challenge starting at the ADFD blog.  Add something LACEY!!

I added a paper doily and a lacey circle die cut.  The little tag behind the image is a #5 manila tag that I added color to using Distress inks and stains.  I really didn't want to cover up the pretty colors, so I stamped the sentiment (from Unity) on a strip of vellum.

I used this week's Color Throwdown colors and the MOJO291 sketch:

Have a Flippin' Great Birthday - Color Throwdown #240

Hey, y'all!  It's Wednesday and time for another Color Throwdown challenge!  This week it's my turn to host and this is the color combo we're using:

I know it's a little different but I really love the fresh look of the inspiration photo. 

I decided to pull out a favorite summer set and make a birthday card that any of my beach-lovin' friends would love to receive!

~

~

I used the Flipping Out stamp set from PTI and also their birthday die.    I drew 2 parallel lines on a diagonal on my white cardstock, masked the center, and stamped all the flip flops   Then I stamped the sentiment, adhered 2 tiny strips of cardstock along the lines, tied a piece of twine around it, and popped up the "birthday" on foam mounting tape.  I added a couple of coordinating sequins and it was done!

FTTC#218 - It's All in the Date!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Allison Cope Israels is our Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess this week and she's come up with an awesome and fun challenge!

Basically, you just create a card or project using the 2 elements listed beside your birth month.  You can use any other additional elements you wish, but your creation must include your 2 items listed...

My birthday is in July, so my challenge was to create using "a banner element and some brads or buttons".  And here's what I came up with:

I've wanted to use this gorgeous Bees & Blooms stamp set since it was released, so I pulled it out and used a challenge sketch which had a banner element to it.

I stamped the image in Memento Gray Flannel ink and colored it up using these Copic collections:

~

~

I also stamped the sentiment in Gray Flannel ink then began layering all the beautiful papers, which include some from the Color Made Easy Sunflower paper collection.  I made my banners with the same papers then layered a button tied with Kraft Jute on top of a White wrinkled ribbon bow.

The sketch I used is from the Sunday Stamps challenge #SSC46:

I am SO GLAD it's Friday!  What a long week I've had!  At least it's almost over!

Here's one of the best things about Friday…a new release from A Day For Daisies!  This one is right up my alley.  It involves the beach….or at least some cool beach babes and Aloha Flowers!

I chose to color the Aloha Petals image.  She looks just like me.  (Yeah, right!  I know!  Stop yelling NO at the screen already!!)

~

~

Isn't she beautiful?  And how about those flowers!  Love them!  I used some Beach Babe papers from Fancy Pants - I think it's perfect!  And my layout is from the I Heart Card Sketches #015:
