Taylored Expressions March Sneak Peek - Oh Snap!

Today is the second day of sneak peeks for the Taylored Expressions March release and as the Guest Designer I get to play along!  I've used another super fun stamp set, Oh Snap! , to create my card for today. 

~

~

I stamped the camera image on white cardstock with Memento tuxedo black ink and cut it out using the coordinating Oh Snap Camera dies.  I followed Taylor's instructions on the Taylored Expressions site - easy peasy!!  I also used the film strip image and I stamped that great sentiment directly onto the patterned paper.

I colored the camera and light burst with my Copic markers and coated the camera flash with Glossy Accents.  I cut out a second camera with the die using black cardstock and used that as a dimensional shadow.  The center of the burst as well as the flash, lens, and heart are all popped up using 1/16" foam mounting tape.

I had recently purchased the We R Memory Keepers For the Record 6x6 paper pad at a local craft shop and couldn't believe it when I found it had the perfect background to go with my camera, as well as the Color Throwdown challenge #232 and the Deconstructed Sketch #91.  Those 3 little stars were in perfect placement!

A Swinging Rabbit for a Tuesday Trigger challenge

Ok, I know that's a crazy title.  But it's accurate.

I decided that I wanted to play along in the Sweet Surprise Tuesday Trigger challenge over on the Moxie Fab blog as soon as I saw this inspiration photo:

I just adore baby blue gingham and I knew instantly what I wanted to create!

The April 2012 Club Kit at A Day For Daisies has some of the SWEETEST images and this little "Swinging Rabbit" just HAD to have a blue gingham shirt and shiny white galoshes!  HAD to, I tell ya!

Orange You Sweet! - Color Throwdown #134

Hello, everyone!  It's time for another round of the Color Throwdown!  Can you handle it?   Yeah, I thought so!

Fascinating Goddess - Moxie Fab and Just For Fun challenges

Here we are into Friday again!  Thank goodness!  And that means it’s time for another Just For Fun® color challenge. 

When I first saw this color combination, I was a little unsure of where I would go with it.  

~

Then I ran across the Fun with Fabric challenge in the Moxie Fab World to use fabric on a card in a different way.  The tiny wheels in my head started turning and I decided to use the Fancy Form image from Just For Fun®.  That was the perfect starting point for my card. 

~

~

There are so many sewing “notions” on this card and they all seemed to work!  From the Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess paper, to the buttons, the stitching, the Bloomers, the gathered muslin strip and the Maya Road chipboard dress form, I just kept adding until I couldn’t find anything else to add!  But I really had fun! 

I love a good challenge! Thanks Moxie Fab World for sparking the idea!!

To cut the patterned paper along the stitching, I found it to be easier to use my paper snips (with really sharp tips) to clip along all the stitches going one way first and then come back and snip along the other edges.  Easy!
