Just Thinking of You - Color Throwdown #99

I can not believe we're almost to Color Throwdown #100!!  We are all SO EXCITED for our HUGE celebration and giveaway next week.  I hope you are too!

Barbara is filling in for Danielle, who is on a family vacation this week.  Here are the colors that Danielle chose for us to play with:

Aren't they yummy?  I thought so.  And I thought they were a very vintage combination, so that's the direction I headed with my card.  I also wanted to play along with the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week - Laura's Sketch 55 - since my friend Kimberly Crawford of Mint Motif is the sponsor.

So here's my card:

I used the rock-and-roll technique for the squares using antique linen and walnut stain Distress inks.  A lot of the cardstock edges are distressed and I dyed the seam binding with tumbled glass Distress ink.

We'd really love for you to play along with us.  Shouldn't you practice for the big challenge next week???  Um, yeah, I thought so!  Come on over to the original Throwdown!!

A Purple Rose

A Purple Rose.  Sounds like a mix between a Prince song and a Bette Midler movie!  LOL!  But it's not!  It's my project for my post on the Couture Cardstock blog this week.

I tried something a little different for me on the background and I've provided a few photos of how I colored the rose and put it together.  You can check it out HERE.

Can you see that I used my new Mint Motif stamps??  They're wonderful and designed by my sweet friend Kimberly Crawford.  I can tell these are going to stay on my stamp table to be used over and over!
