It's summer!!!  Well, at least you would think so if you go to the Color Throwdown blog today!  (Or step out into the 90+ temps we've been having in SC!)  This week Barbara is our host and she's chosen some of my favorite colors - beach colors!

She even used a photo of the beach as an inspiration!  A lady after my own heart!

Since I obviously have the beach on my mind, I pulled out my Smooth Sailing stamp set from Our Craft Lounge to make an ocean inspired card.

I love the lighthouse with the little heart and the font of this sentiment is fabulous!

Pumpkin Birthday Flower - Color Throwdown #193

Hey everyone!  It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and this week Wanda is our hostess with the mostess!  She picked a great inspiration photo and the colors are bright and happy!

~

~

I wanted to try out my new Dylusions ink spray (in Pure Sunshine), and so I decided to go a little artsy with my card.  I love the effect of this beautifully saturated color.   The other colors were brought in through several random elements - washi tape (green dots at the bottom), leafy vine border die, zig zag stamp from the OCL Every Heartbeat stamp set and the pumpkin colored flower from the Fabulous Florals set.  It was really fun to put together!

Let's Celebrate - Color Throwdown #192

Hey, everyone!  Welcome!

It seems that Wednesday has rolled around yet again and that means it's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge.

The great and wonderful Oz, oh, I mean Tammy, is our hostess this week and she's chosen a totally awesome color combo and inspiration photo:

Beautiful, huh?

I was in sort of a hurry to get this card done, but I hope it doesn't show too much!  I colored up the banner image from the Unity March 2012 KOTM set with my Copics, then popped it up on foam tape onto a panel of white cardstock which was impressed using my new Lil' Inker Designs Texture Plate - Frame 1!  It's so cool, and it made the perfect backdrop for my banners.  Great design, Laura!

So Glad We Are Friends - Color Throwdown#191

Hi, everyone!

It seems we've rolled around to another Wednesday and you know what that means!  It's time for a new Color Throwdown challenge!

The fabulous Lynn is our host this week and her inspiration photo is one that really wows!

I love those huge paper flowers.  I was not only influenced by the colors, but also the flowers and their arrangement.  So I used my Fabulous Florals stamp set from Our Craft Lounge as well as a sentiment from Say It With Flowers to come up with my sample for this week.

~

~

My inspiration for my layout came from THIS CARD (the pink Sweet Peas one) by the oh-so-talented Alice Wertz, a fellow DT member at A Day For Daisies.  I just loved the layout and decided I just had to shamelessly CASE it!!  Thanks, Alice!  It was a great way to use up some paper scraps too!

Waterlilies - Color Throwdown #190

Good Wednesday to you all!  Are you ready for a new Color Throwdown challenge?  It's a great color combo this week, brought to us by our super talented Lori!

I was really sad to have Julia Aston leave as our guest designer for April.  She added some amazing designs to our weekly lineup. 

But let me tell you, we've got a super star for you this month!  The one and only Queen of Scene…..Kittie Caracciolo!  Woo hoo!  I adore Kittie!  And I can't wait to see what she'll create for us this month!

I decided to print one of my Wax Fruit Company digi images to color up and couldn't choose between one of the Playground series images and this Waterlilies image.   In the end I thought the flower was just perfect to use with these colors!  I kept the card kind of simple to show off the beautiful image.

~

Breeze in Spring - Color Throwdown #189

Hello, everyone!  It's time for another edition of the Color Throwdown and Kristin's back!  YAY!  We've certainly missed her!

She's the hostess this week and has chosen an awesome color combo:

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors or even all of the colors in the combo if you decide to play along with us!

I chose to combine the CTD challenge with this week's CPS sketch CPS262.

The image I'm using today is Breeze in Spring from the April 2012 Club Kit from A Day for Daisies.  There are so many perfectly sweet images that it was hard for me to choose which one to use!  I colored her up with my Copic markers and added a little bit of Star Dust stickles around the image.

This week's Color Throwdown is hosted by the lovely and talented Kerri!  She's chosen a beautifully classic color combo based on a gorgeous floral wreath.

~

~

I love it!  I wanted to use the colors a little differently, so I chose my Every Heartbeat stamp set from Our Craft Lounge to create a multi-colored background.  I trimmed along the zig-zag at the bottom, embossed the top portion, tied a couple of strands of twine around the panel, and adhered it with foam mounting tape to pop it up.

My little tree was stamped, colored with Copic markers and also popped up on foam tape.  Here's a better view of the dimension:

Clean and simple and fun!

High Flying Bunny - Color Throwdown #186

Yes.  I'm still making Easter cards!  I think I'm almost through though.  This is the last one for the grandkids, but I still need one to send to my Mom.

I pulled out another The Cat's Pajamas image.  This time it's Take Off.  I know it's not necessarily an Easter image, but hey, it's a bunny!!!  I'm also using the new retrosketches #5.

Kick Some Grass! - Color Throwdown #185

Hey there, everyone!  It's my week to host the Color Throwdown challenge and I'm so excited for you to see this color combo!

I found my inspiration photo on Pinterest and loved how it took me right back to my childhood….the bicycle AND the wall paper!  LOL!!

I decided to also use this week's Fall to Layout FTL183.  It's just perfect!

I pulled out this darling bunny from the Kick Some Grass stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas, keeping in mind that Easter is fast approaching and I have quite a few children to make cards for!  I'm sure one of them will adore this little guy!  This also qualifies for the TCPTUES202 challenge to use a grassy product!
