Allison, our fearless team coordinator, is also our hostess this week! She's come up with a fabulous challenge!
BUILD IT WITH DOTS - Create a card using dots to color your back ground and/or image.
I love it, and it's something I actually do quite often. So I thought I'd challenge myself to make a CAS card (instead of a detailed image) using this technique!
I couldn't wait to use my new Wrap It Up stamp set and it provided with just the right image to use this week!
I stamped the main bow image using Memento tuxedo black ink onto a Flourishes Classic White cardstock card base, and added the side ribbon and tag as well using the masking technique. I also stamped my bow image 3 more times. Each of the layers was colored with markers from the New Leaves Copic collection and the gift (card front) was colored using markers from the Water Copic collection. I used the same colors to shade the image by adding dots to what would be the darkest areas of the images. I adhered each layer using foam mounting tape. I also used it to pop up the second tag image. The sentiment is from the Pinwheels & Popsicles stamp set.
Here's a close-up view from the side so that you can see more of the dimension.
I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch #312 for my layout, flipping it on it's side:
